Excellent! I have several contained veggies/herbs along with my 2 veggie/herb gardens. I really like that multiple hook stand. Did you buy that locally?

The stand came from a clothing store that was closing... so many years ago I can't remember who sold it to me. I did have costumes hanging from it at one point, but the "arms" had a tendency to "grab" people - usually me - who walked by.

Oh...ok. I'm looking for some sturdy plant hangers to place strategically around the estate.

Those were laundry soap buckets from Sam's. I don't think they put it in the big round ones anymore. The smaller, rectangular ones are the current issue. Needless to say, Beauty and the Beast does a LOT of laundry!

So far, so good on the container garden. I purchased and planted small tomatoes and bell peppers from Ace on May 10th, right after Mother's day. The 5 gallon containers were done about 2 days later with a variety of plants from Lowe's. (I was just slow processing photos) These photos were taken yesterday. #1 & 2 The right side up tomatoes are winning. #3 The Squash is pushing out it's tomato friend. #4 The ocra seems to be playing nicer. #5 The Cantaloupes are looking for someone to hold onto. And where is my photo of the Zucchini that's taking over the world???

Where did you get the 5 gallon buckets? I am always looking for them.... Walmart sells them in the hardware/paint section for 3 or 4 bucks. my tommy toe tomato plants came from walmart. we bought several of them at the start of april and planted them. i also picked up the miracle grow. the plants were seedlings, probably 6 inches tall at the time. they have ballooned to over 5 feet tall and 5 feet wide now. i put the MG on there weekly for the first 6 weeks. then we got all that rain and sun and my god....i will have enough tomatoes to freeze them and use them in a paintball gun lmao

LOL! Yep! I'm using the Miracle Grow Potting soil. It was $8 per 2 cubic foot bag. I used 2 full bags and part of another my mom had left over. So $16 in dirt, about $50 in plants. (I never did plant the onion sets.) The upside down planters were $7 each, so $28 for those. Next year, I'm just going to use the 5 gallon buckets with holes drilled in the bottoms.

Your plants are awesome!!! You've inspired me to plant more next year. This year we planted some heirloom tomatoes in five gallon buckets. And they are doing great. But next year I want to do okra to and some squash. Thanks for sharing the progress.

I have my bell peppers and squash in some rectangular plastic flower boxes, but they're getting so big. Next week I'm going to build a big planter box out of 1x12s and fill it with Miracle Grow garden soil. That should allow plenty of root growth.

My container garden is doing nicely. I haven't killed anything yet and peppers & tomatoes will be ready soon. Pics have only made it as far as Facebook.

Ok.... I didn't properly 'process' the latest garden pics... so I'll try to do that tonight. But I just had to share my cantaloupe pic right now! I have never tried to grow cantaloupes, so I really didn't know what to expect. Fave Niece and I have become very fond of our delightful plants. The website provided by the nursery said that melons required a lot of sun and leaf area to make the fruit sweet. It also suggested that if your space was limited, that the vines could be trellised if you supported the melons as they grew. We have been training the vines up and over the hand rail of the back porch. One of the plants was nice enough to only make cantaloupes conveniently located on top of said rail.
