Cleveland Police Department booked Bradley County Commissioner Brian Jeff Yarber on suspicion of alleged drunk driving around midnight on Thursday, Dec. 7.
A unit had been requested to investigate allegations of a black Dodge Charger driving the wrong way on APD 40 and heading toward Interstate 75, according to reports.
Officer Tyler Pride said a vehicle matching the description had pulled onto Goldstar Drive.
“When I walked up to the vehicle on the driver side, there was a white male with a black hat asleep in the driver’s seat with his mouth wide open,” Pride said in his report.
Pride knocked on the driver side window.
“The male, who I believed to be in physical control of the vehicle, jumped as if he was startled and seemed to be extremely disoriented,” Pride said. “He opened the door and I could immediately smell the odor of alcohol coming from his vehicle.”
