 Littlefield Silences "Worst Mayor Ever?"
« Thread Started on Jul 3, 2008, 8:49pm »

From Chattablogs: Has Littlefield shut down "Billy Blades" author of the hilarious "Worst Mayor Ever?" Say it isn't so. Anybody got any details?

I guess you're not familiar with the background of this story.

Ever since Littlefield got elected, "Billy Blades" has been writing some scathing blog posts (you can Google Worst Mayor Ever) and Littlefield has been very angry about them. The TFP did a story on it a few months ago. Anyway, according to the post I linked to above, Littlefield found out who it was and shut down them down, I guess. There have been no postings from "Billy Blades" in a couple of months.

Can a mayor close down someone's web site?

If Littlefield did close down a website critical of him, then he truly is the "worst mayor ever!"

Actually, I think the webmaster just got tired and hasn't updated. Check out the "Fake Ron Littlefield" on twitter.

Said poster makes the claim without offering even a shred of proof or an explanation of how a mayor could "shut down" a website, I might ad. ::)

The post at Chatterati does say it is satire. In two places.

Ahh... my eyes glazed over rather quicky while reading it.

Gary, I'm not making any claims. To repeat, a very vocal critic of Littlefield has been strangely silent for a couple of months. I have no idea if Littlefield has shut down any website. I'm merely linking to a Chattablogs post that makes that implication. Here is a link to a May 2007 TFP article about "Worst Mayor Ever."

Tshirt, my comment was about the poster of the Chattablogs article, not you. I apologize if you thought I was referring to you.

Billy Blades has updated his page today. Wonder if he reads the CMF?

Are the t-shirt prices on cafepress really that high? 18.99 and 16.99 is what they're going for and BB says that they are priced as low as cafepress will allow. I'm not commenting on what BB is doing, just actually asking about the prices. That doesn't seem low enough to allow someone much room for profit is all I'm getting at.

Yes. That's the main problem with CafePress - their prices are about 15% too high to really move merchandise.

I'm going to talk with Ronnie over at Quik Tees and see if I can work out better prices on CMF merchandise.
