Ripley's lists a man who had his name changed to "James" then every title to every 007 movie "Bond".
But, he did that to himself.

In regards to Metallica if they just picked it and not after the rock group...it's actually a pretty cool name and the fact that their gov't won't let them pick their own name makes me thankful I live in America. I personally think anyone who names their kid after a rock group should just get a tattoo of them instead....but, that is just me.
I'm all for unique names....heaven knows there are enough Madisons (no offense if your kids name is Madison) out there...but, not at the expense of the kid being ridiculed.
My husband...if we had a kid who was a boy wanted to name him Bern...I asked, "short for Bernard?" he said "No, just Bern" I though it was pretty cool...but, figured people would end up calling him Bernie.

My son has a traditional Irish name (Foster), and if we had another, we were going to name him Callum. If we had girls, we were going to go with something with an hispanic/scottish combo with the first/middle names because of my wife's ancestry. My oldest daughter has a good Irish name (Seana) and my second daughter has a good Norse name. I do have a few ancestors that are Norse, ya' know.

A norse is a norse of course of course and no one can talk to a norse of course that is of course unless the norse is the famous Mr. Sven!

There's this girl at school who's 6'3" who likes my son.
I think they should get married, go to college, then have a couple of 10' tall kids.

I'm not very particular of unique names....especially when they're made up and ruin the lives of those poor kids... Ridicule hurts, heh

Had a friend in school with the last name "Main"..
He swore he was gonna name his children:
"Chicken-chow" "Sewer" and "Toe".

I had a friend with the last name "Long" who was going to name his son "Miles".
"Miles" was going to be his middle name.
His first name?
"Ten".

LS, you recommended I name my child "Fleshy." You are so twisted. --
I have no recollection of this, making it pure hearsay.. But you have to admit--it would have left a lasting impression.
Sheer Genius, whoever actually said it.
