Remember that neat picture from the previous forum of the black and white dog perched upon a "thing" used to tie up boats down by the river? I met him again at Market and 4th late tonight downtown. His name is Buster, and it turns out he's owned by a guy named Pete Adkins who gets his jollies by exhibiting Buster along Market street, down toward the aquarium, and up toward the art district. Pete told me he and Buster are in the running for "stupid pet tricks" on TV. Cool. Pete's an upbeat kind of guy, very interesting to talk to. Most of the time Pete and I were talking, Buster was perched on top of a fire hydrant. People walking by couldn't help but take pictures and fawn over Buster.
Buster is simply outstanding.
Life is good.

Is this the same dog that used to hang out at All Things Groovy?

Smartest damn dog I have ever seen in my life. Plus he is trained for a special mission, if you ever watch him in action you can figure it out in about ten minutes.

I love watching him play. They're usually around the aquarium whenever we're headed to lunch. Awesome pooch!!

Okay, I'm sure I'm not the only one who didn't know what bollard is...
Bollard: a thick, low post, usually of iron or steel, mounted on a wharf or the like, to which mooring lines from vessels are attached. b. a small post to which lines are attached.

Thank you, why use a $2 word when a 10 cent word does the job so effectively.

Why use a long word when a diminutive one will suffice?
