We've got a lot of "events" coming up, all worthy of a Notta Party. - Housewarming for the "new" Forum
- Income Tax Day
- a certain longtime forumites 40th Birthday
- the beginning of Spring
- ...and so forth
So, TCrash has happily volunteered to host a good old-fashioned backyard cookout and pool party at his new house (complete with swimming pool and a big deck). We have settled on Saturday, April 14th as a good day to have it, weather permitting. Basically, it would be a two-tier type of party: family-oriented during the afternoon with kids and so forth. Then once the sun goes down, kids get packed away and the adults kick back with the adult beverages of their choice for the evening. Considering how many people here have children, it seemed like a good idea for kick of Spring with a party everyone can attend. And there is crash space aplenty of Casa Crash for those that want/need to stay overnight, too. Here's what we'll need to make the party work: - A grill and a grillmeister. Yes, I'm talking to you, LongShot.
- Grillable food, picnic fixings, plates and utensils, salads, chips, etc etc
- Beverages of your choice, both of the soft and hard variety
- Ice. And coolers to put them in
- Folding lawn chairs
- Backyard games, such as horsehoes, frisbees, etc
- ...and so forth
Who's interested?

I'm definitely interested. Whether or not I can actually make it is a different question.

I'd love to. (But I thought TCrash's identity was supposed to be a secret.)

There is a strong chance I am off. If I am working, I have kid and a job to get to and I am out, but if I am right, I am in.
The last time I brought the grill that was as expensive as it was heavy, it was knocked off a 2' deck and I about lost my GODdamned mind, so that is up for debate...but I am not saying no. Yet. (I have also Modified my own back deck and it may not be possible to load, but again, we'll see.) Whatever happens, DO NOT BY THE CHEAPEST SHITTIEST PREPACKAGED PATTIES POSSIBLE, OR EVEN A GRILL FIRED BY PROMETHEUS HIMSELF WILL PRODUCE SHIT-EATING PATTIES. Buy 73% lean, hand pack them with minced onions intermixed, and let Nature take its course. Smoke one, have some water, then get back to cooking the RIGHT meat the RIGHT way. Oh...and tack 15 minutes on any Brat's. Heh.
___
It is of note, that Cops should not drink together. Ever. Especially if married, wives present or not. Ever. Ever. And Cops should never drink in a place they have a financial or emotional interest in. Ever.
So...maybe Worm should be the grillmaster.
Seriously.
Seriously.

Looks like as of right now, we will be in Knoxville that night for my anniversary/hubby's birthday, so I doubt I will be there. Sounds like fun, and if we decide not to go to Knoxville, I'll email later for directions...

I prefer 87% and onions optional (but if present, minced is much to be preferred).
My grill has been converted from propane to house gas and is now semi-permanently attached to the house. I don't know where the propane jets are anymore (I probably kept them, but that doesn't mean much), and it takes nearly an hour to change them out.

I'll try to make it too, best during the early part (less likely to drink, more likely to find my way home from way up yonder).

The last time we got invited to a bring hot dogs or burgers for the grill... hubby INSISTED on ribeyes. Anyone going to get crazy if we show up with something strange?
Oh - And we've been using one of those el-cheepo tripod grills and charcoal. Works. Cheep. Easy. LIGHT WEIGHT, and I actually like the charcoal flavor better.

How about 3:00 to 6:00 pm kid friendly and 7:00 pm til close adult friendly?
RSVP? Just for an estimate. Just e-mail me and I'll send the directions to the compound.

I think I have a road race that day.
I may be there anyway. A nice celebratory party.... if I'm not sleeping off the agony of defeat.

Y'all are making me hungry!
There's nothing I like better than a big, fat slab of hot, juicy meat.
(And burgers are nice, too!)
