"Dead or Alive" by Tom Clancy with Grant Blackwood. Got it from the kids for Christmas.
What is this "with...." thing? Usually means the author is dead or dying and someone else took an outline, or work in progress, and finished it like Robert Ludlum's last several books.
I'll post a review in a coupla days.

First coupla hundred pages are vintage Clancy. More later...... the good guys are stilling killing/maiming/capturing bad guys, but the bad guys are trying a little trickery, a little misinformation, etc., soon to be thwarted, with extreme Clancy prejudice, by the good guys. Almost as good as a Police Blotter discussion with Duke! I'll update later, without spoiling the ending! (Like the bad guys are gonna win?)

I just finished "The Frenzy Way" by Gregory Lamberson. I'm about to start the first book in his "Jake Helman Files" series "Personal Demons." The second book is also out called "Desperate Souls." Gregory Lamberson also write the "Johnny Gruesome" graphic comic series and has written and directed the cult horror films "Slime City," "Naked Fear," "Undying Love" and "Slime City Massacre."
I graduated from high school with Greg....he's not only a great writer, but a really neat guy.

"Dead or Alive" by Tom Clancy with Grant Blackwood.
Finally finished it. I would recommend it. Good read. Multiple plots that coalesce during the last 100 pages. The good guys win and the bad guys suffer. My kinda book!
Opened up some great future story lines without leaving the reader hanging.
Hope the next one comes out soon.

Started "Panic Zone" by Rick Mofina. Excellent so far, but a heartbreaking intro. If the bad guys win I am gonna be pissed.

Just finished "One Second After" by William R. Forstchen. Easy to pick up at the Bi-Lo or CVS. Please ignore the fact that Newt Gingrich wrote a forward when considering the purchase (I did and was pleasantly surprised).
One of the better, well written and interesting fiction novels I have read in a while. I would highly recommend it. The treatise actually makes one think, "What if......"
(And it is a real "What if"!)
As a result of reading this, I have purchased EMP proof tobbaco and stashed 12 months of cigarette manufacturing items. I printed off "How to Make Beer Using Items Available in 1798" just in case.
I'm ready.
Off to re-read, "The Civil War, A Narrative" by Shelby Foote.

"The Dirty Dozen" by Robert A. Levy and William Mellor. A compilation of the twelve most egregiously wrong and damaging decisions made by the SCOTUS.

Christopher Moore's Lamb. It's a very interesting look at Jesus' childhood through the eyes of his best friend, Biff. I'm pleasantly surprised with how tastefully Moore has accomplished this.

Product Description Jake Helman, an elite member of the New York Special Homicide Task Force, faces what every cop dreads—an elusive serial killer. While investigating a series of bloodletting sacrifice rituals executed by an ominous perpetrator known as the Cipher, Jake refuses to submit to a drug test and resigns from the police department. While battling a cocaine addiction, Jake starts a high-pressure position as the director of security at Tower International, a controversial genetic-engineering company. Beneath the polished exterior of the corporate identity and the CEO—who has a reputation as the frontiersman on the cutting edge of science—is a deranged mind. As Jake delves deeper into this frightening laboratory, he discovers much more than unethical practices performed in the name of human progress. Sequestered in rooms veiled in secrecy is the worst crime the world will ever see—the theft of the human soul. Horrifying and gruesome, this is a gripping, suspense-filled novel that offers intense arguments about science, ethics, and human life.

"Vengeance: The True Story of an Israeli Counter-Terrorist Team" by George Jonas The story of the 'retribution' by the Mossad (Oft denied, but I'd be bragging if I was the Mossad) for the Black September Olympic Massacre in Munich in 1972. The political/terror massacre of innocents was the first real 'political event' I followed in the news of the day as a youngster. I can still picture the photo (in black and white and beamed 'live' across the world on all 3 news networks!) of the hooded terrorist (He was subsequently was killed in the botched raid at the airport) on that balcony, today. Found at Amazon. I read a similar book years ago (I think it was called, "Wrath of God") this one appears to have been better documented and reads much easier. No matter, the story is grand, no matter the 'take' of the author as long as he/she stays with what documentation is available. I'd highly recommend it, so far. In the grand scheme of things, it had a happy ending for the good guys, but as the book notes, the "Vengeance" really never did a thing to stop such acts (Except by these individual terrorists and their support) and may have even accelerated such dastardly acts for the future (Now). That being said, the basic goal of the massacre (The destruction of the state of Israel) has failed, to date. Fascinating read.
