Thanks to everyone who has already taken the survey! Your awesome! We still are very far from our goal to get a very accurate account of data from this area, so if you havent had a chance to take it please do!

It appears to be legitimate market research and is on topic for this area.
Luca, while we are supplying you with participants for your survey, why don't you join in here and give us some of your opinions on dining in Chattanooga and food in general? It would make us feel more like we are helping someone in our community rather than us just being fodder for your own needs. It might also be helpful to you, if we know you better, to assess our candid opinions on Chattanooga's nightlife.

Thanks Justin!
Will do! Always great to have some one new to the boards whose first post is to ask a favor so thank you for being patient with me: ) Myself and my partners have worked here in Chattanooga for many years in the bar/restaurant segment and feel like we have a solid idea for a place people would enjoy going to. So far the data we have got from here and friends on Facebook has been pretty solid to support our idea but we want to make sure we have numerous responses to back up our claim in our business plan...been kinda hard getting it out there with out standing on a corner handing them out. Anyone have any ideas or things they used to get there own data? Anything would be appreciated : ) Btw, nice forum that i didnt know it was here until two days ago, looking forward to being a member!

As the odds that I am anywhere near your target demographic run extremely thin, I will refrain from your little survey. Oh yeah, the chances that I would blindly click on that link are even slimmer.

Good point Brian!
Justin, personally i feel that the current state of bars/nightclubs only cater to an extremely younger crowd (21-25) with a plethora of sports bars and micro breweries. Our concept does not, nor is it one of the two. TNBear i definitely understand your apprehension about clicking on a random link and thats why we went ahead and used/payed for a popular survey website thats used by hundreds of corporations, but if your still uneasy we'd love to hear your thoughts of wants and needs : )

I have as well and I'd love to hear about your backgrounds before I start answering any questions. It's a small town, maybe we know each other. Network a bit ;D

I know there is a little vagueness in the background question, but I'm currently employed and I'm afraid my current employer might feel that opening a new restaurant/bar/nightclub maybe a conflict of interest and terminate me, but if and when we can get this thing opened I'll be more inclined to go over some specifics and do a little networking : )
Byron thanks for your continued interest in this thread, I feel like i've made a new friend already!

I'm not a bar-type person. My idea of a bar is the Stone Cup. For restaurants I prefer cheap, quiet enough to hear the conversation at the table and enough options that are or can be gluten-free as possible for $20 and under. Preferably WAY under.

If you need some money I suggest you continue to work the restrooms at the bus station.

Why make it hard on yourself. Probably the most successful bar in Chattanooga over the past 30 years is Bud's. Copy them. In a different part of town. Good luck.

I would love to see a coffee shop pop up in Red Bank right next to The Book Rack. I think both places would benefit from it. I would love to see a smoothie shop open up close to the old BiLo in Red Bank.

Another business to consider modeling would be The Terminal. While they have not been around for 30 years, they are kicking some serious butt. If you opened a brewpub with beer and food as great as theirs near the old Bi-Lo in Red Bank I would be your best customer.

maybe bring back some diversity in downtown eating. the Mudpie that was wonderfully Cuban has been sold and redone without any of the former "cubaness". Man a place good Plantains would rock.. and several Gluten free dishes in the menu that aren't just side items will give you a big boost for people in here.

We like the smaller places where you can probably see some familiar faces. Someplace casual like the Market or Tremont Taverns.

Good craft beer selection, strong drinks, inexpensive pricing. That combo should have the world beating down your door.

I liked Andy Dillon's response when asked of Bud's success - Good food, cold beer, and good looking servers is the right combination for any bar's success.

Good grief. Look at hiring a marketing/advertising agency to take that kind of stuff on for you if you are a legit business. Save you alot of hassle and headaches and get you the best deals.

Good grief. Look at hiring a marketing/advertising agency to take that kind of stuff... Honestly I'd be surprised if any local bars/clubs are doing that. The local market just doesn't justify the expense. If they are, they're doing it wrong and wasting money.
