Here's the deal. I've had Comcast for several years. I've had ups and downs, but it's been okay for the past year or so. Phone service & Internet have been flawless, cable TV...not so much.
Recently, we've had problems in my neighborhood with picture pixilation. At random times, on random channels, the picture will freeze, break up, and it's unwatchable.
From searching around the 'net, this is a problem with Comcast in some areas nationwide. The cure often involves several tech visits, rewiring and all sorts of hassle I don't have time for.
Have any of you switched from Comcast to EPB? If so, what are your thoughts and recommendations? Are any other Comcast customers dealing with pixilation issues?

Have only the rarest probly w TV blanking out maybe e/o month, but at least e/o week I'm not able to get online with Comcast cable. Situation often can be easily remedied (unplug, wait, replug) but on occasion just have to w a i t. But it seems that the EPB cable/internet bundle costs more then Comcast.

Comcast is not great, EPB is expensive...
I have EPB and have a BITCH of a time finding shows to watch. EPB offers a really crappy guide. (that I have found hard and online)
So instead of watching music videos I'm paying $100+ for a month I listen to pandora (at $40 a YEAR). I don't watch TV. other than music videos. Karen had 3 favorite channels. It shouldn't cost $150+ a month to have >1.5m internet and 3-5 channels.
but noooooo Im just a voter and taxpayer, screw me....

EPB rocks. More channels that I like on the "Not Basic but the next one up" package. I've got it bundled with my phone and Internet service. My Internet is SO FAST that my techno-geek son is threatening to move back to town or pay EPB by the foot all the way to Harrison to get my 4.1 meg per sec download speed.

I set up my "favorites" channel list and have never had a problem finding shows to watch.
As for "expensive", I'm paying less for EPB than I did for Comcast and with a much better package.

Sent in the Order for EPB with the package deal I can get rid of Comcast and AT&T. So it is going to be cheaper.

Most people who have switched from Comcast to EPB are thrilled! Jay, I would say 85%+ are thrilled. And that may be on the CONSERVATIVE side.

Yea I have to begrudgingly agree with Sherry. That damn thing has gone off at 3am before and I am one of those who sleep with the TV on. Knowing the direct line to "Tier 2" (staffed 24/7) I have lodged the complaints about it at 3:05am.

Beware of EPB Fiber Optics Service
I switched over from Comcast a few months back, but now wish I had not! One day, all of a sudden we lost our picture! We could still hear audio, but not video. At the time figured it was the TV (46" LCD), so went to Best Buy and bought a new one. Got home, hooked it up, everything worked fine for about 10 mins. then BANG! The picture went out again! Still hear audio, but no picture! Not even the Setup Default Menu would appear! So now I called EPB because the only thing it could be causing it is the Cable Box. The repairman came out, said he never heard of that, but everything else checked out. They even checked all my electrical outlets and circuits...all normal. He took the old box and said someone would contact me after checking it out. In the mean time he gave me a new box, but I now have no TV to hook up and test it. So they came out with a test TV and everything seems ok now, BUT the problem is it seems obviouos to me that it was the box but EPB is saying that they cannot find anything wrong, so now it appears they are unwilling to reimburst me for my TV!!!!! Nice customer service, as my wife called to check on the status and the rep she was talking to hung up on her!!! Time to go back to Comcast and would warn others to watch out!!! Being that EPB Service is relatively new, this could be the tip of the Iceburg!
