The place that comes to mind is Mom's Italian. If correct is is (was) located in the 1200 block of Market near Porkers. I'm unsure if it is still open. As I recall the long time owner died a few years ago. Some bragged on it but I was not among them. My memory was more on the lack of cleanliness. There are some reviews in Chattanooga Dine Out

We drive by there often on our way to The Terminal, have not eaten there in years. Looks open to me.

Mama Theresa's was located in Brainerd Village many (25-30) years ago. It was next to "The Leader" apparel store. My family went there for their great pizza, but there was a full Italian menu.

No reason, no warning. However, there was a great celebration by the lemmings after the fact. In retrospect, given that the warm welcome I initially received was with torches and tar, the outcome was predictable. Lest we incur WK's boredom, we can discuss this further pm.

OMG. That's truly disgusting Mynkint. Time for a bit of re-education methinks.
For the record, I am also banned from the CDO forum by the ridiculously paranoid couple that run it.

Have not been to Village in awhile, but if your back is to Brainerd Road, it was on the right hand side. The Leader had a large block of that "wing" down to the corner, so toward to middle/front of the right hand side.

Oh how I miss that place. It was the last really good italian place in town IMO. Tony's is not quite traditional enough to get the title, and Provino's fare isn't fit for dog food.

I vaguely remember Mama Theresa's - it's been too long ago. But I do remember The Leader vividly. Loved those stores - downtown and Brainerd. Billvol, the Office Depot has moved to the old Eastgate Mall location where the last Goody's was, but their previous location at Brainerd Village was exactly where The Leader was located. Mom's was great in the eighties. A group of us from work went there for lunch at least once a week. There were always co-workers from Knoxville who wanted to go there to eat lunch when they came to Chattanooga for business. Of course, Mom was running it then. It was a fun place to go at night to eat also.

We loved Mom's. I bought Lanze skirt at the downtown leader 1973. Still have it. Red corduroy cat wrap around skirt. Still have a Woolrich shirt I bought there about the same time. I remember when the Leader sold work clothes only! I miss that place.
