Not yet,but it looks to be one of the most expensive joints in town: Cheese raviolis: $22.50, crab ravioli: 23.99, baked paste:$24.99. Several available as 1st courses from $13 to $15. Lamb chop: $40!!!!!, beeef medalion: $37. Snapper (least expensive dinner entre): $27 Prices about 40% cheaper at lunch for reduced portions. D'Oto is from Emilia-Romagna in the north. But Sorrento( veal) is south of Napoli and Marrema (chicken) is in southern Tuscano. Good press aside, who can afford this more then once a year or so? Bryan will give it 6 months. Buona fortuna!

Yes, it is in that place where The Cellar used to be. I just noticed the sign yesterday.
I thought Tony's made their own pasta.
That does sound pricey, but this place hasn't really had a good italian place since Mama Teresa's. Maybe it'll be good.

Boccaccia and Alleia both serve house made paste (not all of B's are). Tony's claims to make their own, but they buy crayovaced stuffed pasta. D'Oto claims to make his own paste, but the prices are still outrageous. Rent must be sky-high.

with the track record of every joint that has opened it's doors in that location nobody can honestly give it anything more than 12 months.
that location is where businesses go to die.
you can get very good "homemade" pasta at the chattanooga market every week.

Making pasta at home is not that big of a deal. The prices do seem a bit steep.

The only compelling reason to roll your own is to make egg-based paste, especially for stufrfed paste. Otherwise, it's near immpossible to beat a good imported brand, ie., De Cecco

Wanting to see is this place is worth what they charge, I just went there for lunch. There was not a customer in the place nor was ther a hostess or any wait staff to be seen. I stood there for a few minutes and left without seeing anyone but a few people back in the kitchen.
Now I am sitting here enjoying a very tasty and reasonably priced sandwich from Steamboat.

Finally went to Pasta Italia and it was pretty much what I expected. Good food, inflated prices. Left with a full belly and empty wallet. I enjoyed my first and most likely last meal there.

This place is quite beautiful and their shift from this place will hurt many people who used to enjoy it.

They're moving? More info please. But if they move to a lower rent location, prices may approach affordable.

It's a spambot, ssmynkint. The link in the tag was its payload. We are getting more and more of these and I'm not sure how to combat them effectively.

$60 per person for a meal of dough and tomato sauce?!? I don't think there's enough ambience in all of Italy to justify such prices.

They don't charge prices like that in Italia.

Born and raised in Chattanooga, but have lived in Memphis for past forty years. Could not believe that my favorite restaurant Pasta Italia pulled up stakes in Collierville and moved to the Scenic City! I'm heartbroken. The food is fabulous! Yes, it is pricy, but it is so very, very good. And the chef/owner, what a dream! I did not even know his name until I read this blog, but he is wonderful and very charming. For a short time, while in Collierville, they offered a family-style lunch. The chef's wife would bring around plate after plate of delicious selections. Super yummy stuff!
