This would be a great subject for those in the "know" . Such as the Paul Gray Murder, and the Billy Hull murder for hire, and any other infamous sordid tales!

I'm a newbie but this sparked my interest. I remember the Paul Gray murder but who was the shooter? Anyone remember the details?

Found this one: laurajames.typepad.com/clews/page/73/The State of Tennessee vs. Julia Morrison James was a production in three acts that played to a theater packed to suffocation. The crowds attending the sensational murder trial in Chattanooga in January, 1900, crammed into the pews, crammed into the aisles, crammed themselves even behind the judge's bench. The curtain lifted on Act I: The Prosecution. Flash back to the prior September at the Chattanooga Opera House. The curtain is not yet risen. The traveling play about to take center stage is titled "Mr. Plaster of Paris," a light-hearted comedy. The leading man is one Frank Lieden (also Leiden), a fairly popular and well-known theater actor from New Orleans. The leading lady is Julia Morrison of the same city, a handsome blonde appearing in her first acting role. As the audience awaits the action, three shots ring out. Part of the play? they must have wondered. The first two pops went off in rapid succession; the third they heard after a slight delay. No one in the audience stirred until one of the actors came before the curtain. "There's been an accident," the man said. "Frank Lieden has been killed." And indeed he was -- shot dead in front of the whole cast and crew by the leading lady. -the rest is available at the person's link

Wasn't there a scandalous murder in Bob Brandy's family? Was it his wife that was killed? I can't remember and Google doesn't seem to know for sure. Anyway, I remember being traumatized by it but the details are sketchy in my mind.

I believe it was his wife,Ginger. Seems like a previous wife died as well. Then we have the famous Bobby Hoppe who shot that guy on Snow St in North Chatt. The guy was some kind of street criminal, and Bobby went free for years. He is married to Sherri Hoppe who was an administrator at Chatt. State. Bobby was known as a great guy. Sherri wrote a book about it.

Unfortunately, Robert Brandenburg, Jr. was a homeless victim of an unusually harsh winter a couple years ago now. I think he was only about 50 or so...

Never met anyone whose real name was chattanoogaagt, but I did know a Chiara, once. Maybe I was pronouncing it wrong. Welcome! (Is that your first name or last name or are you a one-namer?)

Sorry, I spent the weekend burying GOOD MEN who spent their too-short lives in the service of others.
I may have time to get back with you when hell freezes.

I'm new to this group as well but has anyone heard of Billy Hull? He was sentenced to prison for 20 yrs for hiring someone to kill his wife,Gloria. The "Tiki House/playboy bunny home" on missionary ridge was abandoned. I can't find anything on either of them. No release date for Billy hull, no death record....nothing! Anyone know anything?
