Tried the hot bar at Greenlife for the first time today. Had some sweet & sour tofu and some teriyaki chucken with sides of vegetable fried rice and some sesame noodles with julienne carrots.
I have to admit it was all quite delicious. And those that have known me for a long time know I am not a tofu type, but I've been trying to eat healthier (more protein & carbs, less fat and sugars) and tofu comes highly recommended.
I shall return...

I run by there almost everyday for lunch to go. Sluggos is a vegan place on Cherokee Blvd that is also pretty good.

Sluggos is indeed surprisingly tasty. I think the Greenlife hot bar options have declined over the past year though.

WK, I think you're right. since they became Whole Food, things have changed. They are also more expensive. I can get a serving at Sluggos for under 4 dollars that will last at least 2 days. I can walk there from work.

I'm glad someone else said this before I did so it doesn't get perceived as me just talking smack.
The entire store has slowly declined since Whole Foods took over. Lots of subtle changes that over a year or two have greatly declined overall quality. I'm still a fan and am quite the regular but it certainly has gotten worse.
The bar was set so high that not even a company the quality of Whole Foods can compete w/ what the Pruett's did.
They just added the expansion "island" hot bar and while they now advertise they have this huge selection they really just cheapened the selections. It's basically the same things every day. Use to be such vast menu items daily that you almost could never have the same thing twice.
But it's still a nice place for lunch, don't get me wrong, but if I wanted to go to a Fresh Market style store, I'd go to Fresh Market.

I was back there yesterday and about a third of the items were different, but from what I've been told by other customers (and people here), it used to both larger and much more varied day-to-day.
I had the swett & sour tofu and veggie fried rice again (both quite good) and tried some of the green beans. Which, alas, ended up mostly in the garbage as they were nearly inedible and completely flavorless.
But overall, I think Greenlife is still a good place for reasonably healthy food.

They used to post the daily menu, including the soups on their website. They don't anymore because it's the same stuff. I still go there a lot, but it's not the same as it was. Very predictable.

Gary, they still have the sweet and sour tofu if you're so inclined. I go there or Sluggo's because I have to get lunch to go, they are very close to where I work, and they are healthier options than Tubby's or Krystal.

Gary, there is a Thai Bowl on the menu at Sluggo's that is very tasty. Spicey hot but very good. I like the Greenlife bar too but if you're in the area I think you'll like Sluggo's too, plus they have music on the weekends. Babs, I know what you mean about the servings sizes there. I always have food left over to take home for the next day.

Yeah, that Thai bowl at Sluggos is pretty good. Not THAT spicy, but pretty good.
(I also never had to bring home any food there. I can eat the bowl and look for more)

I've eaten at Sluggo's a few times, but it's really not my cup of tea, so to speak.
