this might sound a bit strange. i was removing some old coax cables outside my house. they were all used by either dish network or comcast at some point and since i don't use either anymore. i thought i'd clean the mess up abit. however i think i might have messed up and cut my EPB fiber cable. heres the thing though. i still have internet (obviously since i'm posting this) but my gigabit download speeds have dropped to just under 100 megabit since i did all that this morning. my upload speed is still pushin 900 megabit though.
so my question is when EPB runs that cable from the pole to my house. does it split off to an upload and a download cable? sorry if that sounds totally stupid. i'm new to fiber and i'm trying to understand it. i just find it strange that my download speeds have dropped drastically like this. doing a malware scan then a virus scan just to make sure nothing is slowing my speed down. thanks for any help in advance
