...While on my bi-annual trip into Sam's (I am not allowed to enter regularly for financial responsibility reasons), I discovered, a very wonderful, horrible thing. A box of beer labeled 'The Beers of Mexico', containing six bottles each of Dos Equis, Dos Equis Amber, Sol, and Tecate, for $25.00.
Those that appreciate Mexican beer should first realize the bargain in just over a buck-a-bottle. Pretty astounding, really.
Those that DON'T appreciate Mexican Beer, should. The Tecate is my personal favorite, followed closely by the Dos Equis (in the green bottle, though the Amber was an original favorite from Back in the Day). The Sol (Brava) was new to me, but enjoyable as well.
I'm not a beer man these days--liquor by the drink is better on my body mass--but as with my rant earlier in the year regarding Negra Modelo, I am more impressed with Mexican Beer than any other in the world. American, German, British...don't get me starte on Japanese or Jamaican beer... Mexico has the Taste for Me, and I'll be going back to stock up.
Try it, folks...you'll like it. The flavor has brought me back to a place where once again...I'll be able to fairly hear myself getting fat.
And Liking it.

Ls! you do realize that Dos Equis is actually a German beer that just happens to be brewed in Mexico. Don't you?

Or you could say it's a Mexican beer that was brewed by a German.

In this case Yoda, pretty much. I can never get past the caramel coloring used in XX dark and Negra Modelo. Much prefer Bohemia/Modelo Especial/Pacifico in that order.

It's origin does not concern me in the tee-tiny-least, because I do not base my enjoyment of a beer/anything based on international calling codes. I base it on taste.
To allay your concerns, yes--I have in fact read the label on every beer I have ever drank and enjoyed, and still plumb the depths of the ones I did not (the '33' on the Rolling Rock bottles, for one--I find the beer too acidic for my tastes, and the actual origin of the number on the bottle a bit boring) but the words listed made not a whit of difference to me unless it tasted good and rolled pleasantly down my besotted throat, AND sat well in my troubled tummy.
I asked your 'point' because your inquiry also included a dramatic 'Don't You' at the end as if to square the dramaticism of the question, hence my heightened expectations outside of the obvious geographical origins of the beers in question, that were so simply labeled as being 'beers of Mexico' in a cheap box I found at Sam's. So if there's more, hey. One question will do.
But I will still not write those who packaged the box in protest. As I stated, it's a good freakin' deal, and no less of a 'tasty import'.

Ls! Sometimes I just ask questions. A simple, "Yes, I knew that," would have completely satisfied me.
And I fully agree with you on point of origin. Dos Equis is brewed in a German tradition from a German recipe in Mexico, yet it is tauted as a Mexican beer. In fact it is a great beer from Mexico, one I appreciate greatly, but what does that mean? Really? Good beer is good beer regardless of where it comes from.

Exactly. And of course a 'Yes' would have sufficed, but I am obviously handicapped. (My doctor says it is a 'condition', but .. 'same thing'.
I do so love that beer though. Your feelings on the XX Light Lager version, if applicable?

The XX Light Lager is tolerable to me. I am not a fan of light beers, though, so I'm not a good one to ask about that. I love their amber and I love their lager, though.
