I haven't been to the place in over 11 years. Does anyone still go? Is it still the same? I have been having a nostalgia moment for the place and a good beer but, didn't know who the clientele was like anymore.

Haven't been to the one downtown in a long time...everytime we go, it is so crowded you can't even walk in the place....
Now the one on Jordan drive is awesome.....

They're renovating the place and adding an expansive bar area to the first floor ... I like the one downtown, I like the one at east ... There's a certain ambiance to each location, although East feels so much more corporate (and smoky).

We play league pool out of East - every Monday and Wednesday. Usually go out on Sundays to practice... The tables are $2.00 an hour (I reckon I pretty much live there) I haven't been to downtown in years. May have to check it out.

whim I am glad you brought that up. I saw some construction in there the other day and was confused because my memories were telling me there was no first floor just steps. Thanks for the info.

The owners are spending upwards of 2 million on the renovation. It should be quite amazing, it already looks remarkably better. 3 floors, first floor restaurant, 2cd is still going to be pool and darts, bar etc. and the 3rd floor is I think a cigar room or something. It looks great.

The owner of that building died a year or two ago; did the CBC people buy it?

they did purchase it from his "estate" I believe he left everything to the Community Christian Foundation or something like that and since they were not in the business to be landlords they immediately unloaded all of the property...Including 2 buildings inthe 700 block of market street that were purchased by a developer who has not done the first thing with that whole block. Most of his (jordon's) buildings were falling apart so I applaud the cbc peoples fortitude for this project. I would have been scared to take it on.

Cool. Next to the Pickel Barrel, it was my favorite Early Years Beer Joint.
