The "upscale restaurant" that was spoken of months ago is going to be in the old "Antiques on Main" building. It is going to be an Italian Eatery and is anticipated to be open in about 6 months.
I can't wait.

Have you been to Nico's yet? I know they aren't completely finished - some furnishings haven't arrived, but they are open.

caterer, is Luciano involved with the new restaurant? No, Luciano's new place is already open. It is in the southern saddlery building on south broad. Worm, knowing what I know about you and the person opening the "new" place. You will definately not be frequenting it for "encrusted" demi something or another.

Italians do that kind of thing? I thought that was only the French...
We need a good Armenian restaurant in town, or maybe something German.

German would be excellent. I used to enjoy trips to Milwaukee because of the German food.

German would be awesome. Closest I know of is a rathole in Manchester. Next is the Gerst Haus in Nashville, which is pretty good.

I am surprised the Gerst Haus is still there, I lived over near it when I was in college; went infrequently, but liked it. I assumed it was lost to a parking lot when they built the titan's stadium...

Gerst Haus is still there. We ate there last year, and it wasn't as good as "in the old days" when we went several times a month while in school in Nashville. The service is spotty, so hopefully, they have some new management and things have improved.
There used to be a couple of good German restaurants and a deli in Huntsville. Wonder if they are still there?

The only time I've eaten German in Chattanooga is when Bruce does German night at the River Street Deli!

A good Italian eatery would be a major blessing to this fair city. A good German one also, I haven't had a good German meal since I was in Destin about 10 years ago.

I grew up in a very German community, with a grandmother that cook like nobody's business. Now I'm hungry for sauerbraten and red cabbage...

If you like Italian and are referring to the 'other new one' on the southside, it's called "Baccacios's". At least, I think that's how you spell it. It's great - been there twice and the food and service are excellent. And yeah - a good German restaurant would be LARGE !

I have had at least 3 people talk about how luciano brought back the "involtini" at boccacio, damn that must be some good chicken!

I haven't been impressed with Olive Garden - especially the one in Hixson.

when an Italian restaurant can't cook pasta right, there is a problem.

The problem with Olive Gardens is that they don't cook, they re-heat. Ask anyone who has worked at one.
