I passed there tonight on foot, and laughed aloud at the 'Espresso' aspect for M L King.
I should have shut up and gone in for some damn wings. Go figure!

We went by on Saturday with intentions of stopping, but there were about fifteen people hanging around the front of the building - so we went on our way. I'm not sure what he might be thinking with this location. . . They have a web site. www.phoenixworldcafe.com/1808536.html

When a Chef is referred to as formerly of so many times in a row, how good can he possibly be?

Chef Neville is a quite good chef, unfortunatly ever since he hooked up with that shitheel Darren Webb his career has gone down the shitter. Chefs Underground was a great place, had many good meals there. Then he went to Michaels which "mysteriously" burned. Then the extremely short lived O'Aces, then The Palm etc. I wish the best for him, but I'm not sure it's gonna happen.

Don't forget The Cellar in Dalton - he was there between Michael's and The O'asis and he worked a few times at La Cabriole during that time as well.

He helped out the folks at La Cabriole.. he and Jock were good friends... Silas Marleys was just too upscale for East Brainerd.. and out of the way. The Palms started out not really knowing what they were doing.. and has turned more to a bar.. Neville wants a food joint...
I hope he has gone back to original Jerk recipie fro the wings.. they were a bit scaled down for the public over at SM's.... I think folks on MLK can handle the hot stuff!
It is worth a trip to check them out!!

Shot's right and Darren Webb is at least a prince of the scumbags. If he was smart enough to be king he wouldn't be in the slammer.

Neville has a wonderful Chicken Liver Salad. I know, it doesn't sound tempting, but it is wonderful (if you like chicken livers).

Red letter day for me: having to sit across from Darrin Webb's "adopted son" and listen to him defend the scuzzbag and the repeated references to the "in-cin-er-rary" device. The kid couldn't even say "incendiary" device. He was a joke. I imagine it runs in the "family."

Hey, maybe Charles Manson or John Gotti Sr. was a good business man too.
'Still wouldn't eat at the fuckers res-taur-ants.

I'd eat at Gotti's.
I'd make sure I had a corner table near the door...but I'd eat there.

I thought about it when I named him specifically...then thought,
"Fuck'em.".
Besides being a full-time shitbag criminal, he got caught and died in prison. I'd rather eat in joints that, if run by criminals, are run by ones smart enough to not get caught. Repeatedly.
Chef Nutville can eat shit, lightly basted in garlic and butter slowly cooked over a low flame.
Me? I'm heading for Tony's in Bluffview, and if the Feds hit the joint? It'd best be after my wine glass is empty.

After doing some research, I have come to the conclusion that Neville has washed his hands of Mr. Webb and his ilk. Mrs. Bear and I, with a few friends went for lunch yesterday and the food was quite good. When we arrived Neville and his partner George were out front tending to the BBQ where racks of ribs were smoking away. We were welcomed by them and they explained that the ribs would be at least another half hour to be right. As that was fine with all of us we went in and relaxed. Our first taste was the Rasta Roll with Jerk Chicken and a wonderful dipping sauce. After that we all shared a cup of Gumbo (great) and an order of Calypso Chicken Salad, very tasty with just a hint of curry in it. By this time the ribs were ready. We ended up sharing two plates of them between the four of us. They were not as good as Master Blasters but beat the crap off of most others I have eaten. They do not serve beer, but assured us we can bring our own next time, which will probably be a Friday soon as they offer Goat Curry as a Friday special. My reccomendation is to give it a try, and hope Neville has learned his lesson.

Jesus.
"After doing some research, I have come to the conclusion that Neville has washed his hands of Mr. Webb and his ilk."
...The only time he has not been in Webb's dedicated and loyal employ are the times he has been in 'Federal Pound-You-Ass Prison'.
I do not count the current hiatus, for yet again the same reason, as 'having washed his hands of him'.
As an unexpected plus though, at least it's not likely the new restaurant will burn down. What with Webb still in the joint, and all.

I know nothing other than I loved Underground and it closed years ago. I saw an ad in the paper that he opened a place on the Big 9 and I went to check it out.... Not quite Underground, but good.. Ive been and taken friends probably 6 times in the past couple months. Its got potential if he gets some business. The food has always been great. Give it a shot. Weekday lunches are a full menu and Saturdays are grilled Ribs/Chicken only.
