Must be getting old; the sound of some foods frightens me. I mean, "fish" and "taco" don't seem to go together ...

I don't know its origin it's kind of tex mex style. I tried one in San Antonio. They are kind of spicy It's basically flaky fish like Mahi Mahi, hot sauce, salsa, lime, and jalepenos some people put onion in it too but, I like it with just the salsa, lime and hot sauce with a dab of sour cream in a soft tortilla.

Actually more Mexican than Tex-Mex. They are a very popular street food in Puerto Vallarta where I will be in just 6 weeks. I cannot wait.

The Silver Jalepino across for Baylor sold them & they were great -- all the flavors & textures blended in to make for the best taco I've ever eaten.

That's a good place. Marsha from the old BR works there. Caterer knows the other owner and has spoken highly of her.

Oh, and thanks Runedeer. PV seems to be still a pretty fun place and not totally Americanized, especially in The Old Town section.

That's why they work so well on this forum.

You are incorrect, sir. Puns are wonderful.
Fart jokes are the lowest form of humor. Trust me, I should know.

Fish tacos are one of the best sellers at Big River... Soft flour tortilla spread with seasoned cheese sauce then wrapped around a hard corn tortilla..the filling is typical taco filling...lettuce and stuff, seasoned Mahi Mahi ,cajun remoulade served with black beans and spanish rice, side of Guac and Sour cream.....sounds weird, tastes great!

Well, alrighty then.
Maybe one needs a good white wine to lay the groundwork for such a culinary endeavor...

A cold Pacifico, frosty Marguarita or icy Mojito would be the PV way.

Maybe one needs a good white wine to lay the groundwork for such a culinary endeavor... May I suggest Albarino... light, white, spanish, inexpensive. It is not quite as light as a Pinot Grigio.

Fish tacos are sold all over Mexico, I love them! Fish (or shrimp) lettuce, hot sauce and a lime wedge. Fantastic!

Not Eating Them @ Big River is Wrong.
I KNOW Right vs. Wrong.
Eat Them. Enjoy.

Fish tacos rule! I especially like them with grouper, but have yet to have a bad one. It just SCREAMS for bad jokes, but if you haven''t had one yet then you need to try one!
Unless of course if you hate fish.
I have to agree with Worm - fart jokes are lower than puns
about a meter lower

Fish tacos are Da Bomb. I used to eat them for lunch practically every other day when I lived in San Diego. Sonny's Place and Mojo Burrito both have terrific fish tacos. Mojo uses talapia. I'm not sure what Sonny's uses off the top of my head but I think it's flounder. Whatever the case, them's is good eatin'.

The Fish Tacos at Garcias on Walnut avenue in Dalton are awesome. Definitely worth the drive from Chattanooga.

Must be getting old; the sound of some foods frightens me. I mean, "fish" and "taco" don't seem to go together ... 1) Never had one, but a good shrimp taco salad (as found at a restaurant near the Horse Park in Lexington, KY that I love, but whose name escapes me, for the moment) 2) Trust me ~ you DON'T want to drink wine with spicy Mexican food 3) GOOD puns are some of the most intelligent humour to exist.
