The most important aspect of any dining experience is DESSERT! So, what does Bonefish have in the way of "Death By Chocolate" or whatever?

Warkitty and I ate there about a year and a half ago. We had a waiter who tried real hard...but, bless his heart, he just couldn't seem to wrap his mind around the fact that Warkitty is allergic to gluten. He just kept on trying to push bread on her.
Other than that, as I recall the food was pretty good. I had the lobster. I prefer my fish raw and in bite-sized pieces easily manipulated with chop sticks.

I had the bang bang shrimp appetizer as my dinner and it was enough for me. It has been probably a couple years (or whenever they opened up) but, I agree with Snark....very good!!!

Bonefish is part of the Outback chain and they SHOULD have a gluten-free menu. Carrabbas is very understanding about the no-gluten issue, Outback in Hixson is so-so.
It's a really hard concept for people to grasp, because gluten is in EVERYTHING <sigh>. My daughter was diagnosed about 5 years ago and she is very self-conscious about having to ask 1,000 questions when she eats out.
She is on a retreat this weekend with UTC's choir and we send along a discrete bag filled with gluten-free goodies so she won't starve.
Sorry to thread jack, Andi...please let us know what you order tomorrow and how you like it!

I went there once and was told I had to try the "bang bang" shrimp. While I thought that the flavor was good..I could not eat it. The sauce they toss it in is a mayo based aioli. I have such a problem with "hot" mayo. ick. the shrimp were good, the sauce was good. if they would have just served it as a dipping sauce I probably would have eaten it all. Other than that I actually thought the menu was boring. My dinner was average to good..no complaints and on wednesday wine is half price or something. i would probably not go back, but it wasn't horrid. And they were serving chilean sea bass when I was there...during a no fish month..so just to be a pain in the ass i asked if it was fresh. they of course assured me that it was, they serve no "frozen" fish at all. I let it go, so as not to embarrass my hosts. And being a corporate restaurant I was surprised they would have it on the menu at all.

I've been to Bonefish twice. Both times the fish was overcooked and dry. The bang bang shrimp was good, but the saucy shrimp was great. The mai tai was excellent. ;D

My humble opinion after one visit is that the food is pretty much medium and the prices pretty much well above medium. The service was none too hot either.

I would HIGHLY recommend Blue Water over Bonefish. Much better, and awesome atmosphere. Never have I had a bad lunch or dinner there, ever. Bonefish.....2 good meals, 1 horrible meal. If you do go to Bonefish...Bang Bang Shrimp. yummie..

Blue Water has the BEST Bread Pudding you have ever tasted. White chocolate shaving put on top....ask Xterra. One of the best things they have.

Bluewater does indeed have the best bread pudding. And just like Tyn, I've never had a bad meal there.

I wouldn't miss Bonefish. That is one of the best places for seafood around here.
I think Bluewater is downtown.

Angel I've never been to Bonefish. I've heard good and bad things about it. I don't think I've ever heard a bad thing about Bluewater. If that helps any. *evil grin* Since you're on the fence and all. Whichever you choose, I'm sure it will be fine. Take a chance! And have fun!

WOW!!! What a treat.....it was fabulous...we started out with the Bang Bang Shrimp, a beer for Jeremy and a hypnotic for me (which was fabulous BTW) I had the salmon with the tomatoe lime sauce (?) and Jeremy had the pan seared grouper with the lemon sauce....
It was a very great meal. Our server Angela was fabulous....a great experience indeed.....
I WILL BE GOING BACK!!!

Angel, had I seen this earlier today, I would have told you our experience with Bone Fish was an excellent one.
We spent the day downtown, and oddly enough given the replies above, we tried the Blue Water Grill today. Fun coincidence, eh? Anyway, we loved it, too. I like the atmosphere better at Blue Water, but we really enjoyed both restaurants.
