03/23/07 Mike Gellatly The lack of funding available for the Capital Defenders' Office will cause a “crisis” in the sentencing trial of admitted quadruple murderer Jerry Jones, if it is not resolved swiftly, his attorney said this morning. During a motion hearing in front of Superior Court Judge G. Carey Nelson, Jones’ attorney Jack Martin told the court that the defense needs to interview several “elderly or infirm” witnesses “to preserve their testimony.” However, without funds they cannot do these interviews and consult with experts they feel necessary to accompany this. The Capital Defenders Office represents indigent clients facing the death penalty. news.mywebpal.com/news_tool_v2.cfm?show=localnews&pnpID=724&NewsID=792843&CategoryID=3418&on=1Maybe Mr. Flores will take this case.
