I hate these sketchy blubs. "Shot over money?" What in the hell does that mean? The punk didn't pay the full freight for the drugs he bought? He didn't present the right credit card for a purchase? He didn't pay a Riverbend pin sales collectorthe correct amount so the collector popped a cap in his @ss?
Please, Chattanoogan, these blurbs may be all you have at the time, but plese, please, update the info so it makes some sense ....

Sometimes news-story language is infuriatingly vague. Unfortunately, sometimes victims aren't able to articulate (even on a good day) what goes on in their lives. A neighbor of mine told me he was jumped while walking a nearby street; he was hit on the head and received numerous scalp stitches. He's a decent person, but chronically clueless. He repeated the story to me every time I saw him over the next month, and every time, the story was a little different. First he was all alone, then his cousin was with him, then the guy who did it was someone he knew, then he had no idea who did it, then he was near the Wilcox tunnel, and then he was down by the river. I like details too, and have had to resign myself to the fact that with this particular person, they will almost never come out in a satisfactory way. Being a policeman or a news reporter must be a constant exercise in frustration, just in terms of finding out what the heck happened, already! ...Can I get a witness??

You got a wittiness, rune!
Then they gotta 'splain to their significant other why they were 15 miles from home, with the whole week's paycheck cashed , in a reputed good time house, with some dude they are pretty sure's name is "Eddie". And then things got fuzzy.

News here is vague because news is regurgitated from the Police--NOT gleaned from witnesses by what we, as kids, used to call 'reporters'.
It was the most tremendous asset available to those in the police information business as I understand it, because a spoon-fed media will starve if left to fend for itself. And they know it, but the costs are sure kept low.
