*Grin* But, but, what about the secret critics who don't appreciate my singing and whine straight to the higher ups instead of talking to me or discussing it openly?.. Well, I guess we all have critics, don't we?.. Heh, (La, la, .....LA, LA).......La, la........LA, LA ~J

BUT the true theme to CMF and if any one wants to argue.........
Blame it all on my roots I showed up in boots And ruined your black tie affair The last one to know The last one to show I was the last one You thought you'd see there And I saw the surprise And the fear in his eyes When I took his glass of champagne And I toasted you Said, honey, we may be through But you'll never hear me complain
'Cause I've got friends in low places Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places
Well, I guess I was wrong I just don't belong But then, I've been there before Everything's all right I'll just say goodnight And I'll show myself to the door Hey, I didn't mean To cause a big scene Just give me an hour and then Well, I'll be as high As that ivory tower That you're livin' in
'Cause I've got friends in low places Where the whiskey drowns And the beer chases my blues away And I'll be okay I'm not big on social graces Think I'll slip on down to the oasis Oh, I've got friends in low places
and the unheard 3rd Verse: I guess I was wrong I just don't belong But then, I've been there before And everything is alright I'll just say goodnight And I'll show myself to the door I didn't mean to cause a big scene Just wait 'til I finish this glass Then sweet little lady I'll head back to the bar And you can kiss my ass

Now this is one I really like..... " I'd like to shoot you in the ass with a bb gun Lay there in the tall grass and laugh at what I'd done Put a blood blister upon each bun I'd like to shoot you in the ass with a bb gun. " Roger Alan Wade: BB Gun

WASN'T THAT A PARTY ? (Tom Paxton) Could-a been the whisky, might-a been the gin. Could-a been the three or four six packs, I don't know, But won't you look at the mess I'm in? A head like a football, I think I'm going to die. But tell me, a-me oh, me oh my, Wasn't that a Party? Someone took a grapefruit, wore it like a hat. I saw someone under my kitchen table, talking to an old tomcat. They were talking about football. The cat was talking back, Along about then everything went black. Wasn't that a party It sure it's just my memory, Playing tricks on me, but I believe I saw my buddy, Sittin' up in my neighbours tree. He was singin' a folk song; Sounded pretty good. Woulda sounded better if his wife hadn't made such a racket Choppin' up my neighbor's wood. It coulda been his wood pile. It mighta been his door. I know she musta got three or four, But wasn't that a party? Bill, and Joe and Tommy, Went a little far. They were sitting in the front yard, Blowing on the siren, Of somebody's police car. And so you see, Your Honour, It was all in fun. That little bitty track meet down on main street, Was just to see if the cops could run. Well they run us down to see you, In an alcoholic haze, And I sure can use those thirty days. But wasn't that a party? ....now I don't know any of the folks in this slideshow, but it was about the only place I could find a recording of this song online for those wishing to hear it sung... www.youtube.com/watch?v=OPcBRGUHI34

> Wasn't That A Party - The Irish Rovers circa 1980 The Rovers released it in 1981, originally by Tom Paxton and then covered by quite a few bands including The Rovers (prior to becoming the Irish Rovers) and The Oak Ridge Boys... ...what I was talking about were the people in the slide show that accompanied that youtube of it. I don't have a CLUE who THEY are
