Ah, a resident of Timesville Road.
All is explained right there, actually. I wonder if he's one of The Blights that lives down the road from a friend of mine. They're a scary pack of folk. They like to let strange cars know they're there by shooting across the shared driveway. They've been witnessed en mass attacking the only green thing that dared grow in the yard with maniacal glee, and we won't even discuss the graveyard for dead and dying vehicles, the mudpit (they finally shored that up, no more do I see the top (or bottom of overturned) vehicles poking out of the mud as it slowly absorbs them....

Yep. There used to be a couple of our rent-subsidized folks living on Timesville Road. We were somewhere beyond Walden at the edge of Sequatchie County when the blight began to take hold. I screamed, "Holy Jesus, what are those goddam mutants?"
Then I realized...we were in Section 8 Country.

Then I realized...we were in Section 8 Country. As PIO lovingly referred to it when he was the Walden Officer and back up for that area, "It's like DAMN DELIVERANCE up there!!" "You have to have eyes in the back of your head when you patrol that far out up there." LOL I always thought he was just jokin' ... Guess not!

No, he's not joking.
The Blights is the name we have given my friend's neighbors. They're followed by The Yard-arts.
She's moving. Away from there. SOON. They hve a daughter now, y'see...

Are we talking about whom I think we're talking about?
If so, I thought they had already moved.

Man In Murder/Suicide Had Killed Before posted June 22, 2007 A Signal Mountain man involved in a kidnapping that turned into a murder/suicide on Thursday morning had killed another woman in 1973. Al Schwartz, who was 59 when he shot himself to death, served time in prison for the slaying of Phyllis Bowman. She was 23 at the time - the same age as victim Holly Meyners. Marilyn Bowman, sister of Phyllis Bowman, said Schwartz "shot her three times in the head and then he buried her body as if she were a bag of garbage. We searched for her for nearly four months before a hunter’s dog dug her up. "This was a horrible time in all of our lives. She had three young children. Eight months after she was murdered, her first husband, the father of her two older children, was killed in a car wreck on Monteagle Mountain. Those children grew up with no mother or father because of this evil man.

Those children grew up with no mother or father because of this evil man. I have a problem with quotes like this and here's why: An evil man? Maybe...quite possibly....but he didn't send the father's car careening off of Monteagle...so while he's VERY responsible for the kids not growing up with a mother, he didn't have jack shit to do with the fact the kids didn't have a father, either. A tragic situation, but not his fault.

There's a story in that somewhere. Why was one sister on Signal and the other at the Jaycee Towers, of all places?! What's with the age discrepancy? Call me Nancy Drew.... **ANYTHING POSTED BY ME ON THIS PARTICULAR THREAD IS ONLY MY PERSONAL OPINION AND MY OPINION WAS GATHERED SOLELY ON PUBLICATIONS OF THE CASE. I AM NOT SPEAKING FOR THE MEYNERS FAMILY, NOR WILL I DISLOSE ANY OF THEIR PERSONAL INFORMATION OR OPINIONS ON THE CASE!**** I did not know Holly personally, but however, I am close to one sister, know the brother pretty well, and know the living sister in the article. I also have hotten to know their amazingly strong mother! Let me just say that this entire family is amazingly strong to have endured such a tragedy. Hollys two sweet boys, whom I also have the pleasure of knowing, are well loved and cared for. With all of that being said, Age discrepancy? Really? Age is only a number. There were 25 years difference in my grandmother and her latest husband, whom I still call my papaw. Secondly, the articles, if you read, Beth stated she was dating Mr. Schwartz but on speaking terms with her husband, "Mr. Wooten". Mr. Schwartz(signal mtn resident) did not want to purchase diapers, so she offered to call her husband and have him make the purchase. Their great grandmother resided at The Jaycee Towers at the time. Ok, so by reading all that, it is understood why one sister was on Signal Mtn and the other at the Towers. As far as I am concerned, this entire situation was tragic for everyone involved. Both the victim and the perpetrator had families, and they both grieved a tragic and unneccesary loss. To know that this man had already murdered in the 70's, another young mother the same age as Holly and showed such disreguard for human life, yet was given a second chance to become a member of this already twisted society, sickens me deeply!! Had our justice system not swept the first murder under the rug and given proper justice to that family, the second murder likely would not have happened! No less than 5 years, no more than 15! That was Mr. schwartz sentence for a murder in 1973! A disgrace!! People recieve federal sentences far longer for drug charges! Taking a life and using/selling drugs should both come with consequence but it would seem to me that taking the life of another person would carry more! Whats the justice in that? I have personally seen some of the pain brought upon this family in the wake of such tragedy and for anyone to insenuate that these girls brought this upon themselves or that this story is anything more than that of a failed justice system and sick man who took the lives of two young mothers as well as himself out of selfishness and the fear of lonleiness is disgusting.
