BERLIN (Reuters) - A Danish woman whose teenage son locked himself into her car and refused to get out borrowed a policeman's axe and smashed open a window to make the boy change his mind, police said on Monday. A spokesman for the police in Flensburg near the Danish border said the 15-year-old locked the doors after his mother left the car to go shopping and refused to come out. "She called police asking for help," the spokesman said, but the youth still refused to budge when an officer arrived. "So she borrowed his axe and smashed open a window. It was a rather unusual way to resolve the matter." story

Yet again proving that there are very few situations that cannot be resolved by the proper application of force.

By "force" don't you mean high-explosives?
Probably just wishful thinking on my part...
Cosmetic damage to policeman's axe - $10 Passenger window - $150 Never having to take that kind of crap from your teenager ever again because they now know just how wacked out you can get - Priceless!

For those of you who may ever have to "bust out" an auto window - remember to go for the side windows. The front and back glass are safety glass and hard as all get out to break. The side glass just shatters.

And if your car has some of those tiny side windows beside the regular side windows.......I've heard those are actually more expensive to replace than then regular ones..

I always say: use a little finesse, and if that doesn't work get a BIG finesse.
As a former employee of a glass shop, only in Europe are back glasses laminated as are windshields. In the states they are tempered glass like the door glasses and will blow right up with the proper application of force. They are both considered safety glass, but two different types.

Yah, I believe an axe would qualify as a "proper application of force" Hmmm, I'd think a boyfriend would get more stress relief from busting out a bigger window

I think it was most likely an excellent investment in child control - er - care.

Her local Family & Children's Services agency are likely to come and remove the child from a "potentially abusive and publically violent environment", just you wait and see.
And the teen will probably sue the fireman, with help from the local ACLU office.
