another kill, and I put E.L. in the penitentiary for three years, though he "ducked" out on a medical early. A judge named after a bird was on his roll. They're all dead now.

Apparently some of you are on a perpetual bender. I have not read one comment or query about the old after hours club, Sgt. Pickles. It was located downtown Chattanooga somewhere near the old Yesterdays site. Who owned Sgt. Pickles back in the early 1970s?
I did notice some posts about the Wooden Nickel and Sweat Hog on Hixson Pike. Some guy named Slick owned the Sweat Hog. Think he lived in Red Bank. What was that guys real name?

East 7th where Filler's old sports memorabilia shop stood. Don't remember Slick but remember his old lady; Olive. Olive Oyl Slick.

The Tiki Hut. Cool on Frazier before it was cool to be on Frazier. Lowest ceiling-ed dance club ever.

I lived in Chattanooga in the 70's and frequented the Sportspage, Wooden Nickel (loved Jimmy Tawater), Dino's, and the Tiki Hut.

I use to like the Wooden Nickle. My grandparents owned both the light fantastic and the wooden nickle. My mother Angie grew up in them.

Katie's Four O'Clock Club, we are going a long way back, now. 1972? There was a truck stop right across the street. My Dad was a truck driver for Chattanooga Glass and they use to park their trucks there. I think the name was 23rd Street Truck Stop. Looonnnnggg time ago. It was Johnson's Truck Stop for many years, with the truck on top of their sign next to the freeway.

The Lower Deck pre-dated the Sandbar in the same location ..... I worked there in the early 90's for about 3 years. Many fun times and good memories made there.

AH yes, the Playlate club. There are many nights I don't remember leaving that fine establishment. Wasn't there a SportsBarn up by Leonards? Anyone remember the Night Deposit on Brainerd near Germantown? I played saxophone at Paul Gray's Playlate Club in the back room during the late 1960's & early 1970's.

Remember when Pack got in a rolling gunfight with two thugs who were gonna rob him? They went across the Olgiati into Red Bank and Pack wound up chasing one behind the old Red Food @ Signal Mtn. road and gunning him down.

Lets see if we can remeber some of the great old bars of years past in Chattanooga. Some of my favories was the hitching Post, Rubys, The Sportspage (Brainerd Road next to the old Red Lobtser), Clancey O' Tooles, Yesterdays, Buckets O'Brien, Paul Grays Playmate/Playlate Club, Billy Hull's Castaways & Lions Den, Leonards on Brainerd near the Tunnels, Light Fantastic. I know I am giving into telling my real age, but share some of your memories of these old clubs.

From 1974-1977 Chattanooga was the place to be for Disco and Great bands that travelled all over. My fave spots were The Tiki Hut on Frazier in North Chattanooga. The best band that ever played at the Tiki Hut was “The Teddy Baker Band”!!! They visited there many times. I even dated the drummer for a short while. The sportspage on Brainerd Road was a great place. Only music, but had about three levels. Games in the lower part. The dance floor was fun. It was right over the bar and before the top floor. The was a liquor store nearby and you could dry through and get your bottle and a cup of ice etc. drinking age was 18 yrs old then but I was 21 when I started going out. Almost every night of the week we went out except on nights we played softball at Warner park for Chattanooga Glass Company. I feel I lived and worked and danced at the best places. You could not beat those years. Hardly any cars on the road late night, I guess that’s how we all got home safe. When Clancy O’tooles came about it was spectacular. Huge lit up dancing floor with a disco ball. No bands here but it was always hopping. About 3 huge floors in this club too. All could see down to the dance floor. I won a few dancing contests here to with a dear friend at the time. Wooden Nickel was on Brainerd road. Dr Sages at the top of a hotel in Chattanooga. Yesterdays was great too with cool bands like if I’m remembering correctly. The playmate club was fun sometimes. I am so glad I was alive at in Chattanooga during those years. I loved dancing and we had the best places and best people we were friends with. My best friend during these years was always the most fun when she and I hit the bars. I remember there being an after hour bar for the club workers we would go to. But it was always so late, we didn’t do that too often. I hope you got to enjoy Chattanooga during those great years. So fun. Party On!!! PS. I almost forgot to mention Leonard’s. Omg they had the best hamburgers. We would go there after our softball games and I would stand on the tables and tell jokes sometimes. We played crazy drinking games and all regret it the next day🤪
