A large amount of qualifiers (possibly, could, might) in that short bit of propaganda.

Sorry Wheels, but it will be when the advertisers quit advertising that the paper will be in trouble. I doubt more than 20 people will actually cancel a subscription over this hoo-ha. A tempest in a teapot.

Politicians just disgust me. Every damn one of them is there to get re-elected and make more money, not to mention the benefits that the likes of us will never see. PFUI!

+1 SSM. Plenty of faults within both major parties, as well as Libertarians and the (shudder) Tea Party.

I would like to point out that I did not express or imply any endorsement of Mr. Obama in my previous post. He has disappointed me greatly.
However LR, it is my opinion it is not so much "liberal policies" that doomed Detroit as cronyism, nepotism and the same sort of underhanded dealings with the taxpayers' money that has happened in good old Chattanooga, fortunately on a much smaller scale, and hopefully will cease soon or I will be greatly disappointed in Mr. Berke as well.

Although I am an acknowledged supporter of the legalization of marijuana, I would like to make it perfectly clear that the legalization of flaying alive people that destroy wildlife and forest lands to grow it would be a fine thing.

If the word "compromise" was not anathema to the vast majority of the current crop of Republican congresspeople his job would be much easier and the country would be in much better shape.

Geez Louise! I remember the only way a lawyer could get in trouble with the bar was to steal from another lawyer.

Indeed it is, and I am a better driver than average for having a father (who would be 104) who drove liquor from Canada into the States (over frozen lakes at times) during Prohibition.

Dilaudid is wonderful for pain, but it does mess with the old motor skills and eye/hand coordination. I'm sure we all hope the surgery goes well and helps greatly.

Longshot is a very interesting and intelligent person. However I am not sure his strengths lie at the Executive level. Gadfly is an honorable and necessary position however.

Good grief Elf. Have you not heard of an old document called The Bill of Rights, an appendage to the Constitution of The United States of America? Therein, in Amendment IV, you will find reference to something called "probable cause". Perhaps you should take a look at it. Taking a trained drug or explosive or moonshine sniffing dog onto private property amounts to a warrantless search. A "feel" ain't evidence.

Much as it pains me to say, Aceboy does have somewhat of a point here, albeit a dull one. I agree parents should be held to account to a degree for the actions of their offspring. Unfortunately I know of no laws against being a crappy parent.
What concerned people need to do is to get their lawmakers to forget about Big Energy, Big Insurance, Big Pharma, the NRA, Big Religion and all the other sh*theels lining their pockets, or threatening them, or taking them to dinner once a week, and pass some laws concerning day to day matters of immense importance to their constituents.
Remind them their "jobs" are in our hands.

I do find it refreshing to deal with LE with a clear conscience. It was not always so 30 or 40 years ago.

Dunno, I was pulled over a week or so ago due to a very minor infraction and the CPD officer was very nice. We discussed the situation for a few minutes with smiles on both sides and I was on my way. A quite pleasant encounter with LE.

LOL, no arguments with #1 evidently.
For goodness sake, just read the rest of them critically and realize what a load there is there. None of you, except Mikeydopey, are stupid. I do not have the time or inclination to parse each and every one of them for you.

For starters #1: Pot may be legal in a FEW STATES, but is still classified as a schedule 1 narcotic by THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT making it ILLEGAL in this COUNTRY. How many people are in prison for smoking tobacco, NONE. I am a tobacco smoker by the way.
Shall I go on? There are more just as stupid.
