The only bad stage is the main stage.......horrendous. It isn't bad if you aren't there for the music.

Not sure if this is what you were talking about, but my parents had a customer at their dry cleaners who would give them these VIP tickets where you could be on the Coke stage barge and get free food and non alcoholic drinks (this was all under the stage). Plus they had their own bathrooms and you got seats either on stage or in front of it. It was pretty sweet. . . .

Riverbend Festival organizers, Friends of the Festival, are excited to announce that legendary funk and soul artists THE COMMODORES will appear on the Coca-Cola Stage at the 2009 Riverbend Festival. They will be performing on Wednesday, June 10th at 9:30 PM.
As Motown’s largest selling act in the 70’s and 80’s, The Commodores racked up a string of hits including “Machine Gun”, “Brick House”, “Easy”, “Three Times A Lady”, “Sail On”, “Oh No”, “Slippery When Wet”, “Too Hot Ta Trot” and many others that literally moved an entire generation. The trio now consists of Walter “Clyde” Orange, William “Wak” King and James Dean “J.D.” Nicholas.
Also announced, reggae legends – and former Bob Marley backup band – THE WAILERS will perform Sunday, June 7th at 7:45 PM on the Bud Light Stage. The Wailers formed in Kingston, Jamaica in 1963 as the support band for Bob Marley. With groundbreaking hits like “Stir It Up,” “Trenchtown Rock” and “Get Up, Stand Up,” The Wailers had a pivotal role in shaping the history of reggae and have remained a force on the music scene for more than four decades.
Their current lineup includes Junior Marvin on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Al Anderson on Lead Guitar, Aston "Family Man" Barrett on Bass, Keith Sterling on Keys, Drummie Zeb on Drums, Marcia Griffiths on background vocals (aka Wailers Sister).
“The Wailers are a Coca-Cola Stage caliber act, and we are blessed with being able to present them on the Bud Light Stage,” said Friends of the Festival Talent and Production Coordinator Joe “Dixie” Fuller.

sorry,... the Wailers are not a Coca-Cola Stage caliber act
nice little band,... seen 'em before,... I'd be willing to bet they haven't played the "main" stage of a significant music festival since before I was born
they will be a nice fit for any of the riverbend side stages

Chris Rice or Point of Grace would be great on sweet tea night, too. I'd bring the family for either of them & keep my children up past their bedtimes!
