The Guardian Kevin Costner, Ashton Kutcher It was a pretty good movie. I'm still dying to see 300.... I'll probably see it within the next week, hopefully. I just hate going to watch a movie at the theater by myself, heh ~J

Casino Royale
Daniel Craig, Judi Dench
Run, do not walk, to rent this movie. Daniel Craig is just that good as Bond - best since Sir Sean, in fact. No stupid gadgets, no idiotic villains, no ridiculous evil lairs, just one damn good action/spy flick centered on a man who truly seems as dangerous to the good guys as he is to the bad ones.

For Your Consideration
Christopher Guest, Catherine O'Hara, Eugene Levy, Parker Posey, Ed Begley Jr., et.al.
Another of Christopher Guest's ensemble creations that spoofs Hollywood this time in the same manner of "A Mighty Wind" and "Waiting for Guffman". I think the makeup folks for the film really deserved an award for what they were able to do to Catherine O'Hara's face.

The Departed
Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, Vera Farmiga, Alec Baldwin
One of the best movies I have seen in a while. Do not watch this while the kids are in the house.

Eragon and Casino Royale! I agree with you Gary, Daniel Craig did an excellent job as Bond! I thoroughly enjoyed it and now that it's out on DVD, I can enjoy it many more times!

I don't see too many movies but I did see Casino and I thought it was great. Drew you right in and never did stop which was great for m¥ 7 dollar entertainment budget.

I have seen Holiday and it was great, as was Departed and the Guardian, but I just finished watching Blood Diamond, and all I can say is wow! Pretty disturbing actually.
Last movie at the theater was Bridge to Terabithia, and that was a really good movie as well.

Last few at the theater: Smokin' Aces, 300, Reno 911: Miami
Last few in the home theater: The Graduate, Harold and Maude, and Shortbus
The boys watched Casino Royale but I chose to sleep instead ...

At the theater, Wild Hogs. Pretty funny stuff, especially for an old fart going through a mid-life crisis myself.
On DVD, Casino Royale. Great chase scene early in the movie, but the plot was almost non-existent. Not Bond's best.

Depends on what you mean, IMO. And what you're going to compare it to. Every Bond movie is at least a trifle unrealistic, but this one blew me away with the attempts to make it as real as possible (cuts and scratches on the face and hands, dirty and sweaty after said chase scene, etc., stuff that almost never appears in a Bond flick). Not to mention that the last several had become about the gadgets, and almost nothing else. It was like the writers sat around going "Okay, we have these really cool gadgets that we're going to show off, now we need something to go around them and call it a story." And don't even get me started on the bad guys in, well, practically all of them. There are maybe two or three Bond movies in which the bad guys aren't so badly over-the-top that they're almost embarrassing. To me, this was a breath of fresh air into the franchise, and I'm really hoping that the producers understand that the reason why Bond succeeded in the first place was because of the books (and hence, the stories) that Fleming wrote, not some hack that read a Fleming novel, stole the title and a character or three, came up with some bullshit and sold it as a Bond movie.

Music and Lyrics. (reeks of sweet) Karen even said it was too much.
Black Snake Moan Great movie, Christina Ricci spends most of the movie wearing very little, and its a good movie (a little weird) to boot... everybody has a MAJOR emotional problem.

I saw 300 in the theater! It's a great movie. I enjoyed it greatly. What's even cooler is some of those great one liners king Leonidas said were real quotes. "The catchphrases that fill the movie were taken from the writings of the Greek historians Herodotus, Plutarch, and other sources." "True to history quotes from the movie include Leonidas' response on the first day of battle when Xerxes demands that the Greeks surrender their arms. Leonidas replies, "Come and get them." "The "we shall fight in the shade" line from the movie is based on a phrase that a Spartan soldier named Dienekes uttered, after he was informed that the Persian arrows would be so numerous as "to blot out the sun"." Cool stuff www.chasingthefrog.com/reelfaces/300spartans.php ~J

We watched "A Fish Called Wanda" yesterday ... Peyton Manning's neighbors recommended it to us over dinner in Indy the other night (quite a fluke that we ended up next to them at Bonefish).

"300" which was great. Damn Persians....
"TMNT"-I took the my boys to see this and expected to hate it but really did enjoy it. After years of taking them to see billions and billions of "fill in the animal type (zoo/farm/oceanic/forest/arctic/jungle)" computer animated movies that give you the fuzzies and make you want to sing "We are the World", it was a refreshing change to see some mini-testosterone grit. The boys ate it up; we all loved it.

We did see 300 yesterday. First theater movie in 2 years. I can't believe the ticket prices were $6.00 each!! It was a good movie, with, as Jay said, some great lines.

I saw "300" on the IMAX at Navy Pier in Chicago yesterday ... Tickets = $15.00. Big popcorn and two cokes = $11.50. Not a bad deal. The battle scenes are so much more amazing on the BIG big screen.

Wow.......I would have loved to see 300 on an Imax..........That would have sooooooo rocked........ Hard Core!! Too bad they're not showing it on the Imax in Chattanooga.. Oh well.. I did see it on the big screen at the RAVE, which was pretty awesome though... The tickets were $8.50 but it was cool to see it late at night on a weekday w/o a ton of young and annoying people there. It was worth it

I had seen "300" on the regular screen already ... It was just so neat to see it THAT big. The IMAX at Opry Mills shows feature films if you're looking for someplace close to Chattanooga ...

The IMAX here will occasionally show feature films, but usually well after the others. I guess since we had one of the first IMAX screens, they now consider us second rate.

Saturday night, I watched "Rumor Has It" with Jennifer Anniston, Kevin Costner and Shirley MacLaine, among others. Watching Anniston & MacLaine acting together was interesting. They played off each other very well. Their dialogues were the best part of the film. The rest of it was fairly predicatable.

Buster Keaton's been the shit for me lately. I picked up a collection of silent shorts and a collection of talkie shorts. They just don't make movies like they used ot.
