Harry Potter 6 - the Half-Blood Prince with my daughter, husband & friend last night (this morning) at 12. Good movie, but it differs from the book (I'll say no more for "spoiler" purposes). The special effects just keep getting better & better.

Went to see Harry Potter on Wednesday night. Enjoyed the movie, but was a little disappointed with what was left out. Wish they had made it a little longer and expanded a couple of scenes. Effects were excellent, however and I am enjoying watching the characters mature.

Not being a major fan of the films, and not having read the books, this one disappointed me. All the others had some baddy or other that HP and friends had to beat, and in the end they did. This one seemed just the opposite. There was no resolution to it. Add to that several major plot holes (for instance, without spoiling too much, after spending so much effort to get in, just messing up a dining hall and running away was way out of character compared to the general mayhem of earlier) and I was left feeling like I had just spent three hours watching a preview for the next movie.

Not having seen the movie, but having read the books, you are quite correct in that assessment, Worm. The book wasn't really that much different as far as being a "preview" for the finale.

I saw "Star TreK" at The IMAX Theater the other night. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Would watch it again, even for the $1.00 rental.

Same as the Worm on the HP movie. While I enjoyed my time, it just seemed the movie was just a set up for the next one.

Finally watched the HBO "Grey Gardens." It was good, very sad, sadder then the doc. I was disappointed at the leaving out of The Marble Faun, but still a pretty good movie.

Sat through a major chick-flick with the wifey... The Notebook.
Don't tell anyone, but it was a damn good chick flick.

"The Unseen" (2005) filmed in Atlanta, GA. Good film...not so good acting, though.

"Julia and Julie" -- light, entertaining fare. Just what I needed after several days with the grandchildren and minor household issues.

Watched "Legend of Sleepy Hollow" w/Johnny Depp/Christina Ricci as leads. It was even more strange than I remembered from seeing it several years ago.

Just saw SEVEN POUNDS (with Will Smith). Great movie. Not the best acting, but a good story.

The remake of Night of the Living Dead with Tony Todd was on randomly early this morning while Ares was playing on my computer waiting on his bus so I watched it-he watched bits and pieces as well-not exactly his idea of a good movie For a remake it's decent-doesn't grossly go outside of the story line or anything for the most part although the wussy chick going kind of rambo agitates me every time /shrug

Seven Pounds was very nice. I have found Will Smith to be a great actor and choosy about what he does. He wants family entertainment.

It's All About Steve. The reviews were really bad, but the movie was good. At the end, it showed the lesson of life - learning to love.

We watched Marley and Me last night. I cried the whole time. For that reason, I don't want to see it. To keep with topic, I watched The Proposal, it was cute, like ohwell stated previously.

Up in the Air -- excellent (especially the script and Clooney); It's Complicated -- okay (but Meryl Streep is almost always worth watching, and she didn't disappoint in this one); and took the grandchildren to Princess and the Frog -- best Disney I've seen in awhile.
