Just tell the mentally ill to "Snap out of it. You know you can!" Those are the words going around work now. In jest, for those of you who don't know. One unit is closing Friday night. There goes 25 beds. There's a fairly accurate article in today's paper.

California would be a great place to send them. Not because it is the "Land of Fruits and Nuts", but because California can't afford to send them back!

Oh man Babs! I'm so sorry to hear this. I've been pretty AWOL lately, so I'm just now finding out.

I met with HR today. Unless one of the other 2 psych examiners decide to leave, I'm bumped. They have been here longer, so we can guess how that will go. We're going to meet again later this month to see where things are going. I'll be here until November. They gave me a list of other vacant state jobs, I think around here, so we'll see.
Because of the loss of 25 beds, there are times when we have no beds and the referring people can decide if they want to be on a waiting list or go to Knoxville. The number of beds can change by one or two any hour as people are discharged or admitted.
