Why does local news have national and global news and not local? Just wondering what happened to the Harrison Post Office. Nothing mentioned on the news. When I watch "local" news, I expect to hear local news. National news comes on next. Give me a break.

OK. I give up. What happened to the Harrison Post Office? It was still there last time I checked.

And what's the deal with airline food? What airline food? They stopped serving food, unless you count a $5 bag of M&Ms they sell as food.

Someone drove through the doors at the Harrison PO. I am just tired of listening to "local" news and not hearing anything local.

Sorry, this didn't happen on the weekend. I still want to listen to "local" news and learn what is or has happened locally. When I want national or global news, I'll watch something else.

A car ran into the Post Office. Minor injuries.
Won't make the news around here.
If a cop ran into a school, then David Carroll would be all over it.
For weeks.

The post office example is weak grits, but does anyone believe that the local media in Chattanooga (print, TV, Talk Radio) ranks above a 3rd tier level when compared with other metropolitan centers' offerings?

Excuse me, did you mean to say Policeman? The cop and the professor - what's wrong with the policeman and the irritated professor.

Thank you, yes, the Police Officer. May they have a very boring day. I pray that they do not see a murder, rape, robbery, child abuse, auto collision, animal cruelty, shop lifting, armed robbery, homicide, or just plain water balloon fight. I hope and pray that they have a very boring day. I wish a law would be passed that stated when a police officer said stop, and they didn't, they could shoot to kill. I think "an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth has gone too far. I think when you have killed someone, you should die. Instead of spending $65,000 to keep you alive, it should be spent to educate a child - $35,000. Yep, that's my idea.

That would certainly cut down on the hard-of-hearing population, eh?

yeah..I hope and pray that we could let our police just shoot and kill anyone they wanted,no matter what the circumstances, but especially those that don't speak english, those that are mentally disturbed, and by all means those that don't have their hearing aid turned on. And for those that had their murder convictions overturned by DNA evidence, lying witness, corrupt police etc......oops,sorry..too late. You can't be serious.....where do you come from N.Korea,China,Iran..do tell.

I find it ironic the only local news lately involves witch hunters of the mainstream fourth estate and the "Green, bipedalist movement" stalking my colleagues and other posters on alternative sites such as this threatening employments and such. Seems we're making more news having an opinion that the mainstream is making opinions by having news to report! ;D

OK, the kid that set the fire at the plastic factory, any relation to the one that burned the Dollar General Store?? Just a coincidence, I believe. We at the Pulse News are staying on top of it though. :-) And as far as local vs. national, I've been working on getting more local news into every newscast. Starting this week, the ratio should be 2:1 in favor of local news. I hope that's good enough. Also, we can only do so much. News organizations, while staffed with reporters, can't find EVERYthing, and therefore depend on the eyes and ears of the community. If you see something newsworthy (that definition varies wildly from person to person), give us a call at 242-7659 or email us at news@chattanoogapulse.com. That way we can investigate, ask the right people the right questions and let everyone else know.

Do wild parties lasting until 5:00am Sunday morning on a boat dock at Harbor Lights Marina that keep everyone else on the dock awake count as news?

Personally, I would like televised news to put a little city/state stamp at the bottom of the screen when the "Local" news is reporting about something that happened far away. I watch the news at work and don't always hear the opening line telling me where these things occurred.

I get the local Chattanooga news on this forum.
It's where half the reporters get it too.

Spouse: Did you hear about ... Yoda: Yup. Spouse: Where?!? Yoda: forum.
end of discussion.
In fairness, I recognize there are many links to Pulse, Chattanoogan, TFP, telly stations and such.
