I decided to try Jimmy Johns' (Market St in the new EPB building)
I must say that it is very hard to eat subway after eating here. I am finding myself eating there 3+ times a week. You know its good when you have it for lunch and dinner. Their fresh baked bread is soo good. It's chewy with a bit of a crusty exterior. I was amazed at how fast the sandwiches are made. The other day I went in at 1130am and walked out the door at 1131. They have a nice little assembly line going and before you can walk to the end and get your drink the sandwich is waiting for you. A great place for someone on the go. The chips are crunchy kettle style cooked in 100% peanut oil which add maximum flavor. Their slogan is "Worlds Greatest Gourmet Sandwiches" and they might just be right....

I haven't had Jimmy John's here in town, but I loved it in Columbia, MO. It's too out of the way here, I'd love one in East Brainerd.

I had no idea that there was a Jimmy John's in town! Thanx for the tip! I've driven to Atlanta a couple of times just to have a sandwich there. You're right, that's the way it should be done. And, the greeting when you walk in the door is neat. I'll have one tomorrow!

I haven't even thought of going back to Subway - Jimmy Johns is SO much better. They have me eating lunch out more often too. Now I'm already looking forward to lunch there

That is the key. Their seating is too limited at lunchtime. You'll want to have one person to claim a table while another orders for two. Or you can get it "to go." Or you can walk across the street and share your food with the folks in Miller Park.

You don't need to share food with the residents of Miller Park.. they are already well fed by multiple agencies. And for you to even imply that the residents of Miller Park are soliciting for handouts is an outrage. An insult to them. You have hurt their feelings when they see this post when they are using the computers at the library to look for porn jobs.

Jimmy Johns is quite possibly the most ordinary boring "plain jane" sandwich shop I have ever,.. ever been to.
definitely the worst sandwich joint I've ever eatin' at.

slow down, hold on.
hey I like a lot of things,... I dislike a lot as well.
these dudes @ this place make cold, boring, sandwichs with good quality meats & cheeses with very little variety or unique combinations. Hey! at least they have kettle chips and they make the damn things is like 2 seconds.
now,.. if you're in a hurry to get back before the bossman docks your time card then you got a good place to grab a bite.
but really good food doesn't get made in seconds.
me: what kind of breads?
JJ employee: just the "fresh baked" [white] rolls
me: so what kind of mustard do you have
JJ employee: yellow mustard packets
me: ok,.. never mind,.. red onions?
JJ emplyee: no, white
me: never mind man just leave it plain.
JJ employee : that'll be 7 or so bucks
so,.... take it home, dress it up, use some good ingredients from my rather bare cupboard. And now I've got a pretty decent sandwich
that ain't good sandwich shop

I love the homemade bread...I stop by and buy 6-8 of them and use them to make garlic bread.

I'm guessing the "homemade bread" means boxed frozen chunks of dough. thawed,.. then stretched out on a pan and then baked for 8 minutes
show me the mixers, flour mix etc. etc. and I'll gladly apologize for generalizing.
I worked in sandwich joints for years during & following high school. I've seen, maybe not "it all", but plenty

You're probably correct, but it still tastes delicious and makes great garlic bread.

It is pretty good. The bread may not be "homemade" but it's good, much better taste and texture than Subway. My kid loves it and she's way picky:)

I'm afraid I have to agree with Bryan. Better-half and I stopped by today. Mediocre subs at best, unfriendly service and high prices. First and last visit.
