from Yahoo News *link*Zhou Guizhen, who is 86-years-old, shows one of her bound feet where the bones in the four small toes were broken and forced underneath the foot over a period of time, at her home in Liuyi village in China's southern Yunnan Province, February 2007. Villages in China where women with bound feet survive are increasingly rare but the millennium-old practice nevertheless took almost four decades to eradicate after it was initially banned in 1911.(AFP/File/Mark Ralston)

Good grief. That's ridiculous. We are supposed to have a platform on which to stand. What cute, dainty, deformed feet you have!

Good GRIEF! That's disgusting. I saw a piece on History channel about the Chinese obsession with tiny feet. The thing was, that men were never allowed to SEE the feet. It was considered very erotic to make love with the feet wrapped in ribbons. (I guess that was so you couldn't see how mutilated they were.

Yeah, I guess it stops being erotic when you see that mess...
That is pretty bad.... I just don't understand how some people can do some of the things they do...

Well... shall we discuss tattoos, body piercing and earlobe stretching, tribal scaring, etc? One culture's body art is another culture's mutilation.

Well, some of it depends on whether it's forced... Just because it's cultural doesn't mean it's right. I don't imagine many of those women wanted to have this done to them or genetic mutilation, or circumcision... A lot of times it's not their choice..
Personally....I like "au natural"...

Well, think of what the average American woman's feet would look like if she'd never worn high heels with pointy toes.
They'd look like the average 8-year-old girl's feet and she'd have a lot fewer foot, leg and spine problems when she got be 40 or so.

'eh....high heels and pointy shoes never did it for me.... I'd say for women to just be comfortable and wear flats.... It wouldn't bother me... Not that I have much say so in the female world ~J

Scarlett TMI lol
That pic is just gross. I have probably only worn high heels a little over a handful times in my life. I am just to clumsy and use to be too tall (now-a-days girls seem a lot taller to me)for the guys I was dating to wear them. I wore ballerina type shoes on my wedding day because I am about 2 inches taller than my husband as it is. Plus it is hard to find attractive size 11 high heels. They only seem to make size 11 heels for drag queens lol
