I noticed on my way to work today that suddenly a practically finished Krystal restaurant building "popped" up across from the Police Services Center on Amnicola. It wasn't there Saturday but today it was. Not sure when it's opening, but at the rate in which they're building it.......probably Friday.

I saw the ground broken last Wednesday. Are they building them out of pre-fab components these days?

I now drive that stretch of Amnicola Hwy back and forth everyday. I had wondered over the last year or so I have been doing so why there was not a Krystal. I must admit that I have not noticed the construction, but it is dark when I drive in and it's traffic city on the trip home.

I was by there last week and didn't notice anything, then today sure enough a nearly-done Krystal building. I thought I had just missed all the construction but I guess not!

pre-fabricated would be a yes! I heard they were going to an all drive in & drive thru model with no dining room or walk in capability. Not sure yet if this will be that way.

Maybe they should put a drive-thru Krispy Kreme there as well. Cops have to eat too!!!

pre-fab? no. they can build one of those Krystals in about a month weather permitting. that is about how long it took them to build the one on Signal Mtn road 4 years back. the old drive through wsa demolished right before halloween and the new one was open in mid december.
it was actually ready a week before it opened, but the sig mtn road contruction was still in the way and that was the reason for the new building. well that and walmart. they expected it to bring HUGE sales to that store and it didnt do shit.
the last week we were open as the drive through only, we did $9900 bucks business. the build to the full size seemed great the first couple of weeks, it averaged about 28k for the first month, but has now leveled off to around 20 to 22k a week now.
the 2 biggest mistakes krystal has made is one, when the dead bank store was remodeled a few years back, that building should have been torn to the ground and a new one built on morrison springs road on the vacant lot between the dead bank swimming pool and the freeway. they would have made a killing. i would stand in the parking lot every morning and watch traffic come off morrisons springs and go up ashland terrace. if they had built by the freeway, tons of cash.
the second one is not putting a store in big ridge. bad mistake. oh well, cant tell them everything.

6th rainfall.. Remember you need to allow time for the water to soak the ceiling/attic area before it starts to actually drip inside the building.
