And my yearly riducule of most of the bands:
Eminem - This would be really great news... if it were 2002. Arcade Fire - Ok Widespread Panic - See them before they all die. The Black Keys - Good band. Buffalo Springfield (featuring Richie Furay, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Rick Rosas, Joe Vitale) - Old hippies go to bonnaroo too? My Morning Jacket - More like "I'd rather stay home and jacket" Lil Wayne - Is he out of jail? String Cheese Incident - ?
Robert Plant & Band of Joy - Stills, Wide Spread Panic and Robert Plant? Such outdated acts. Are you sure this isn't the Riverbend lineup.
Mumford & Sons - Ok. The Strokes - I have their greatest hit CD.
The Decemberists - Ok. Ray Lamontagne - He should clear his throat or something before he sings.
Bassnectar - ? Iron & Wine - ? Girl Talk - ? Primus - Retro again. Dr. John and The Original Meters performing Desitively Bonnaroo Alison Krauss & Union Station - Does she follow Robert Plant around? Two for one retro special?
Pretty Lights - ? Florence + the Machine - Ok. SuperJam with Dan Auerbach and Dr. John - Black Keys guy double dipping?
Explosions In The Sky - Double billed with Pretty Lights?
STS9 - The new strain of VD to be spead at the event.
Gogol Bordello - Please?
Beirut - I'd rather visit the real Beirut.
Big Boi - Ok
Scissor Sisters - One hit (generous) hit wonder.
Gregg Allman - Jesus, this is Riverbend.
Ratatat Global Gypsy Punk Revue curated by Eugene Hütz Robyn - These have to be made up bullshit names. Are these bands created just for this event?
Bootsy Collins & the Funk University - I have a doctorate from them y'all!
Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers - Riverbend.
The Black Angels - Ok.
I see they have gone for quantity over quality for the most part...

Eminem is huge. along with some other garbage rap acts he filled football & baseball stadiums just a handful of months ago. I don't like him. But he's a massive act.
they're not that old. they headlined 2 nights at the first fest. It's their 25th anniv. tour & they are going on hiatus indefinitely after this year. They are the closing set on Sunday. makes all the sense in the world.
other than the bridge school benefit "one-time" show. First gathering in 43 years
they are an incredibly popular band. both with the jamband community and mainstream. not many bands can say that.
yes
electronic/DJ late night hippy dippy festival favorite
same
same. again these acts are late late night acts and quite popular
yes. quite certain that none of these acts have or ever will be @ Riverbend.
i guess. maybe if we are lucky he will be back in by June
gods to most of the jamband world
new album out that has been well received
can't really argue with you much there.
I say the line-up is very "top light" & "middle heavy"

They're banning all alcohol this year, to keep in line with the purely drug-free atmosphere.

So, if I show up in my trailer or RV, they're going to search my cupboards and confiscate all of my jelly and pickles? The bastards!

The bastards! yep.they mean no glass...i never even bother trying..but in reality,if you show up in a car, with no more than 4 people, keep a low profile, dont party in your car (at least not within 5 miles of the gate),smile and be as gracious as you can with the guys at the gates, answer "no" to all the questions while looking them in the eye,and have all your stuff at the bottom of a cooler covered in ice that has melted and hardened, you can get i with anything you want...CENTEROO,however,is a whole different can of worms.

Sounds like another reason not to go (as if the bands and 100,000 unshowered people weren't enough). That's just insane. Hell, my trailer and car have windows made of glass. Better keep those out. And spectacles, don't forget them. I can see not wanting beer bottles all over the place, and a bunch of barefoot people walking about getting cut on them, but jelly jars in an RV? Don't the RV'ers take out their own trash?

He has done nothing new. He just taking up where he left off. His music is like a time machine that would only take someone back to 2000-2001. I like rap, I really do, but ask youself "When is rap ever good live"? As for the jam bands, I hate that self-indulgent stuff. BOR-ring. I apprciate that you like it, but I do not. In all honesty, I like recorded music. I cannot think of a band that I would like to see live. Even if I did like music, I do not want to camp out. If I did like camping and music, I do not want to be around a bunch of filthy hippies.

well I'm getting to be a rather sqaure older white guy. So I'm not gonna attempt to know much about Eminem's timeline of popularity.
but dude was just nominated for 10 grammys.
that would lead me to believe his popularity is quite high.

YOU are Bonnaroo's target audience. Why would you and any of the hipster elite want to see Eminem, Slim Shady, or Marshal Mathers?
