Because I don't have anyone to finance a restaurant for me. No seriously I too am dissappointed with the lack of a good Italian restaurant. I need to import some of those little old ladies from back home (Chicago area) and put them to work! I usually go to Papa's Italian Bistro in Cleveland.

Eh! Red sauce southern Italian-American? I'll take Saldo's word for it. I make my own gray meats, bracciole, putanesca, etc. The only real Italian resturant in town is Boccacia. The pasteria on Signal doesn't count for a number of reasons, one of which is that the owner's Sicilian. Bida Boom!

Leaving satisfied, just like when leaving Papa's.

I thought Portofino's was okay. Living in an Italian neighborhood for a few years really spoils a person.

Just finished off the huge remainder of my Ziti with meat sauce I picked up at Papa's last night. For less than $8, I had a plentiful dinner and next day lunch with enough bread for both.
For anyone that hasn't been there in a while, they serve beer now.
Modified to add: I went in to get an order to go and ordered the most basic thing on the menu. It took them over 10 minutes to have it ready, and the place wasn't crowded. I'm not complaining. I mean it as a compliment. That tells me that there isn't a huge cauldron of spaghetti pre-made back there. It was "delicioso".
