Personally I reject labels but people attempt to put one on me. Which would you pick?

These two groups bear little relationship to each other. To equate them is confused at best, dishonest at worst, and ignorant in either case.

Honest and fair are fitting labels.

With these basic truths... Conservative = fiscal common sense, lower taxes, smaller gov. Libertarians = more states rights and more individual liberties
So if you mix a Conservative & and a Libertarian, what you get? A Tea Party member! (either that or a pot smokin hippy with a lot of money)
So JT is a Tea Bagger. Amarite?

Personally, I think it might be more fun to libel JIT.
And please, it is spelled "hippie" not "hippy".

These two groups bear little relationship to each other. To equate them is confused at best, dishonest at worst, and ignorant in either case. It's obvious you don't have a clue as to the origins of the word "liberal". Some American liberals, who call themselves classical liberals, neoliberals, or libertarians, support fundamental liberal ideals but disagree with modern liberal thought, holding that economic freedom is more important than equality of opportunity, and that promoting the general welfare of society exceeds the legitimate role of government.[1] en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberalism_in_the_United_StatesI think no-nothing dumbasses, that try to pass themselves off as knowledgable, really should shut up and take notes. Ignorance doesn't even start to describe it. Some people should stick to swallowing weinees, if that is all they're good at.

Conservative = fiscal common sense, lower taxes, smaller gov. You make it sound so good. If only they governed that way. Instead, they only crow about it when the democrats are in charge or they're talking in front of supporters. History doesn't lie.

Don't confuse conservatives with Republicans... But yes, many conservatives campaign that way and never produce... or whether they are what they say they are or not, Washington doesn't work that way, and as we know, nice guys finish last...

Really, Justin is so cool and wise that we should be extremely grateful that he even bothers to impart the knowledge he has attained to mere mortals such as us.

Really, Justin is so cool and wise that we should be extremely grateful that he even bothers to impart the knowledge he has attained to mere mortals such as us. wrong. he effectively forces the opposition to bring a sound argument to the table... something usually not accomplished. guess that's what chaps ya... granted this thread was a bit out of the norm for him, but I kinda took it as some sort of test to show how even someone as consistent as JT is viewed differently by everyone...? JT, care to explain the intent?

Yeah, I keep being called a libertarian and I don't see it. Some of my views are compatible with libertarianism but I also like government supplying police and fire protection, education and a certain degree of welfare services. I was genuinely curious just how many actually view me as a libertarian. I am surprised at the results.

Who else has read your messages for as long as I have? [l]ibertarian it is! I think your reasonable nature naturally wants to eschew your libertarian leanings, but you are still attracted to the hipster Gary Johnson types so you can feel superior and smug toward your fellow electorate. :-)

That's ok, I'd never have you as a member if I could instead introduce you to a club. A "lady" once told Winston Churchill, "If I were married to you I'd give you poison", to which the Prime Minister replied, "If I were married to you, I'd drink it".
