A new addition to the dining scene is on Amnicola Hwy next to the Chevron station-it was previously a short lived pizza place. I work near there and got lunch yesterday. Skip the tamales, the filling of the chicken one was very good and spicy as well, however they keep the tamales refrigerated and heat them in the microwave which results in the masa becoming tough and unpleasant.
The tacos were good. I had a carnitas taco and a lengua (tongue) taco. The carnitas filling had a very good flavor, parts were a little chewy but that happens with carnitas. The lengua was great. The tacos are served Mexican style, two corn tortillas griddled then generously filled and topped w/ onions and cilantro. House-made salsa is available.
i know many of you spend at least some time in this area, up by Wisdom Street, give this place a try.

It is not accessible at all. I could barely make it up the steps with my bad knees, and going down is worse. No way if you're in a chair.

--I'm just laughing thinking of the appropriateness of your selection...

It is and has a great beefy flavor. I learned to enjoy tongue at Cantor's Deli in LA many years ago. They have some taco fillings that make tongue seem like ground beef. Nope, not a gringo, in the last 5 years I have been to Mexico 4 times and Costa Rica twice and I eat as local as possible.
