Hunters who want a chance to bag an elk in Tennessee can put in an application starting this weekend to get their name in a lottery for a permit.
Four names will be chosen in a computer drawing for 1 of 5 permits for elk hunting in Tennessee, The Tennessean reports (http://tnne.ws/H5YndT ). The fifth permit will be auctioned off by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation.
Applications will be taken by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency between April 1 and May 31. Also for the first time this year, a youth elk hunt will be held for hunters between the ages of 13 and 16.
