Please consider supporting the local Cherokee Council and local Boy Scout troops in their annual popcorn sales. As you know, the Girl Scouts sell cookies, and the boys sell popcorn. I have watched Boy Scouts change young lives, and with the economy so challenged, the programs are challenged. For example, Red Bank use to have three booming troops. There is only one left, because it requires money to sustain activities, even with a strong volunteer group. (Side Note: A New Girl Scout Troop is Starting at Red Bank United Methodist) Many leaders spend their own money, just like school teachers do, sending young people to Skymont, and Scouting functions because their parents cannot afford it. The local troop we are involved in has foster children, and they really have no resources, so the troops and Cherokee Council make up the difference through funds. The popcorn is really good. The contact information is attached. yes, I post too much, but I just love it here

Parenting Rule No. 1, "you buy my kids junk and I will buy your stuff." A time honored tradition of Scouting.
