Whether or not he is done says more about the people who change their vote than it does about Mr. Starnes.
I will be voting for David Norton - I think he's the most qualified - I've made that abundantly clear on here previously; however, I hope the press leaves Mr. Starnes alone about his daughter. She's obviously struggling, and, as the parent of an adult child, he must be hurting for her and struggling to figure out how to help her. Any parent of an adult child who has been there at least once must sympathize with his situation.
The daughter (and the family) deserves to deal with an incident that has absolutely nothing to do with Mr. Starnes' campaign in peace and privacy rather than under a magnifying glass.

I have volunteered for Gary Starnes' Campaign for 4 months. It is a fact that Christina Starnes Evans, his daughter is 23, and is currently engaged in a highly contested divorce. She is a mother and wife, and a good person. A married adult. She will have to face these charges. Sadly, it was leaked to the press, before she made bond, and before Gary and his wife Carol could even respond. The daughters legal name is Christina Evans.
Wow, Aceman, you are all to ready to hold Gary Starnes' accountable for his 3 adult children. If you are going to hold him accountable for the mistake of one, then you certainly must credit him for the other adult children. One son just graduated as President of his class, and is headed to UTK on a full scholarship, his other daughter is a EMT at Enlanger and well known to everyone. His three children have never been in trouble with the law before. But heck, you have already convicted Gary Starnes for the crime of his adult daughter.
Finally, this is not a close race, Gary Starnes is leading. This is a devastating blow to his large base of volunteers that have worked for months.
What is very funny is Aceman does not know that Norton is the power structure candidate with all the usual suspects from the Claude Ramsey/Wamp Power Base. So, there ya go Aceman, get Republican with um. xoxo

Aceman, if you are going to blame Gary Starnes for the mistake of one adult child, then you should acknowledge the great success of the other two adult children. One is a go getter EMT at Erlanger and the other is a straight A student. Kick Gary for the failure of one, but you do not get a free pass to ignore the success of the other two. For volunteers that have worked our hearts out, it is very hard to see this leaked to media, before bond was arranged, and a statement could be sent out. Gary Starnes has outworked and outpaced all the other candidates, I guess people like you are willing to throw him under the bus for what his adult daughter may have, or may not have done. I am sure it is cut and dry, domestic cases are. Oh well.

If your vote is predicated on the logic that "birds of a feather..." then there is no way you could ever support Obadman: "For a flavor of Ayers’ continuing radicalism, the New York Times profiled the 1960s radical back on September 11, 2001, the same day as the al-Qaeda attack that killed thousands of New Yorkers at the World Trade Center. The piece by Dinitia Smith began: “‘I don’t regret setting bombs,’ Bill Ayers said. ‘I feel we didn’t do enough.’” A short excerpt from that piece: Mr. Ayers, a in 1970 was said to have summed up the Weatherman philosophy as: ''Kill all the rich people. Break up their cars and apartments. Bring the revolution home, kill your parents, that's where it's really at,'' is today distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. And he says he doesn't actually remember suggesting that rich people be killed or that people kill their parents, but ''it's been quoted so many times I'm beginning to think I did,'' he said. ''It was a joke about the distribution of wealth.'' He went underground in 1970, after his girlfriend, Diana Oughton, and two other people were killed when bombs they were making exploded in a Greenwich Village town house. With him in the Weather Underground was Bernardine Dohrn, who was put on the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List. J. Edgar Hoover called her ''the most dangerous woman in America'' and ''la Pasionara of the Lunatic Left.'' Mr. Ayers and Ms. Dohrn later married. ... In 1969, after the Manson family murders in Beverly Hills, Ms. Dohrn told an S.D.S. audience: ''Dig it! Manson killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they shoved a fork into a victim's stomach.'' A month earlier, a profile of Ayers in Chicago Magazine included a picture of Ayers stomping on the American flag. Marcia Froelke Coburn wrote the accompanying article: “Talk to him for any length of time and some rhetoric of the past slips into the conversation. ‘I think there will be another mass political movement,’ he predicts, ‘because I believe that the kind of injustice that is built into our world will not go quietly into the night.’” Read more: newsbusters.org/blogs/rich-noyes/2008/09/23/barack-obama-bill-ayers-stanley-kurtz-makes-connection#ixzz20uWFgyod

Missed the "cock sniffer" reference. Thankfully. In any event, Aceman often, if not usually, goes way beyond the bounds of decency. Ostensibly, he is just "letting off steam" and stirring things up as others do. But he goes beyond any reasonable bound and is truly vile and offensive; no better then many of the people he criticizes. He is after all, an Acehole, and there is no reason to take him seriously. keep on keepin' on, April.

Aceman, after reading this thread it is very clear that you have no respect for women. It is also very clear that you must live on another planet where there is no such thing as a mistake. Most people refer to that land as a "fantasy." You Sir, must live at 1 Fantasy Drive because here in the real world people make mistakes. They make bad choices, they say things they shouldn't, they lie, they steal, they cheat etc. This is a young girl going thru a very tough time. The last thing she needs is to be blasted all over the media for an issue that involves her marriage, NOT a campaign. Furthermore, how can you point fingers at Mr. Starnes for something that he had NO control over. His daughter is an adult who makes her own decisions, she is also a human being. There are far worse things going on in this city that the news could report on instead of this. Tell you what Aceman, since your so perfect, how about you step out from behind your smoke screen and tell us what your real name is. I bet if we looked up your history we would find quite a few skeletons in your closet. Nobody's perfect.
