As I ventured out to run errands on a nice, sunny afternoon, I made a stop at The Cuban Cafe on the way back to my office. The Cuban Cafe is located at 2114 Chapman Road – and if you aren’t looking for it, you might drive right on by. Not being that familiar with Cuban food, I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. If memory serves me correctly, this was only my third time eating from what was identified as a “Cuban” menu. I didn’t want anything too heavy for lunch so I decided on the Special Cuban Sandwich with consists of ham, pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard for $5.25. As I waited for my sandwich to be prepared, I talked to the person behind the counter who was eager to tell me about the restaurant. It was nice to have a friendly face to inform me about their food since I told him I was totally unfamiliar with Cuban food. www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_104092.asp

Mmmmm....black beans & rice, Cuban style - and I don't have to make it! Oooh, plantanos. Yummy! I can't wait to try it out!
