I prefer my own. I make up a pretty good rub by mixing these ingredients together:
2 T. Sugar 2 T. Brown Sugar 2 T. Salt 2 T. Ground Cumin 4 T. Paprika 2 T. Chile Powder 1 T. Cayenne Pepper (maybe a little bit more Cayenne Pepper) 1 T. Freshly cracked black pepper.
Put this rub on the ribs the night before and put them on the smoker for a few hours at 280 degrees.

Out of those two.....I like Dave's better...but, to be fair I have only eaten at Smokey Bones once.

Never eaten at either place. Never been a big ribs fan. I prefer my beef in the form of a steak.

Isn't there a new place, Shane's Rib Shack, at Northgate? Was at the mall last night and they seemed to be doing a brisk business, judging by door activity.

Wayne has never been a rib fan either - but he loves the ribs at Steve's Landing.

Don't know about the Shane's at Northgate but the one in Suwanee, Georgia is just mediocre. I'll eat there but it isn't a place I crave. If you want good ribs go to Steve's Landing.

Ummm, Gary this is Tennessee, ribs = pork. Really, I'm not kidding, if you like your pork on the bone try Master Blasters. Screw a bunch of lowest common denominator chain joints, eat real. They don't have beer, they don't have unsweet tea, the atmosphere is funky, but by God they have ribs to die for.

And TNBear hits on the reason I'm not a big ribs fan - I prefer beef ribs, which are harder to find here down South where the pig is king.

I'm not really fond of ribs overall, Yoda. I prefer steak without bones.
