I love the place. Usually get the Chicken Marsala. Took the wife out for her birthday. We to there before 5:30 and were told it would be a 40 to 45 min wait. We were finally seated at 7:00! They were seating couples that had come in after us. A couple of them were prom dates, and I'm cool with that, sort of. But when they started seating prom couples that had only been there 15 mins when we had been there over an hour I was starting to get pissed. Then our waitress was pretty bad. She didn't bring back things we asked for and didn't refill our drinks. And she didn't have that many tables. And then did the desperate "do you need anything , ( a refill after I had no need for one) because she wanted a good tip" I've never had that poor of an experience with the place.

Although I try not to eat in chain restaurants as much as possible, sometimes it's the only option. I have found that the best service in these places is at the bar. No one is more aware of what it takes to please a patron than a good bartender.

I normally despise chains, but Carraba's is definitely an exception. That bad of service is an anomaly from the times have been there.

Yeah, no place is perfect all the time. I haven't had a bad experience there before and it's one of my favorite places. But I won't be shocked when inevitably that day will come. I'll give a place 3 strikes if I really like the food.
That's what happened with the Acropolis. It was great the first time we went then we had two bad experiences, waited a year or so, went back and didn't fair any better. There are too many other choices to keep beating a dead horse..........(I hope that isn't literal)

It's one of our favorite places but we don't eat there unless it's a special occasion, which made it all that more dissapointing. That was our only bad experience there.

I don't like carrabba's, I don't like my food burnt, and both times I have been there, I have wound up with burt food. The first time, not only was it burnt, it was swimming in water (the spaghetti for the Chicken Parm), and the second time I had the manicotti, and it was burnt beyond recognition.
I would be willing to give them another shot, but the service and the food would have to increase drastically before I did.
Just sayin'

I love Carrabba's. The Pork Chop Marsala is my favorite. Love the Calamari also.

I ate there twice, not saying the food wasn't tasty (what wasn't burnt and swimming in water), but I just don't like "burnt" cheese on my food.
Not one bad experience but two!!!!

Ate there again Saturday afternoon. Possibly the BEST filet I have ever eaten (and not cooked personally), with Marsala sauce and an appetizer of the only Calimari I have ever liked (as for it with Rufalo sauce--seriously)... I tell you, it and the service (on a PROM night) was so good, it made me mad at the last four meals I had cooked personally, for blind ineptitude in comparison.
I don't understand your few bad experiences. But I still call it the finest meals I've eaten in seven local zip codes.

...Out of concern I did not explain myself more clearly, let me just say this:
I'm not normally the kind of guy that would 'fuck a medium-rare steak with garlic mashed potatos and spaghetti on the side'. But if I were the kind of guy that would 'fuck a medium-rare steak with garlic mashed potatos and spaghetti on the side', I would have fucked that medium-rare steak with garlic mashed potatos and spaghetti on the side'.
[glow=red,2,300]It was just that good. [/glow]

I was left impressed, but not as much as as I was at C's.
It may be the white-trash in me, but I'm sticking to it. Plus, the service was relatively 'shitty' in comparison.

Oh, really?
Our service was great. Hmm.
But we loved Carrabba's, too.

I've been a fan of Carrabba's for several years. I still feel the same when Elliot Oritz is managing. However, when the franchise owner (of the Gunbarrel location), Miguel Martinez, is there it's a different matter. I order the cozze (mussels) w/o butter and Pernod. On two occasions it was served buttered. I returned the order. On both occasions, Martinez came to the table and told me I was wrong; there was no butter (Parkay?). Tonight, Christmas eve, he was hostile and informed me that they used pomace (rerepressed olives for oil). I refused the order. When I approached him later, attempting to tell him that, even if I were wrong, his actions toward a customer were rude and insulting, he became aggressively belligerent. I have never been so treated at any restaurant. If you have thoughts of going to Carrabba's, call ahead; avoid it if Martinez is there. I will be filing a complaint with the franchise's headquarters.
Peace of the season!!!

One thing about Miguel Martinez, he knows a troll when he sees it.

I could make a meal out of the caprese salad and bruschetta con pesto. Several times a day!
