Prior to spending Saturday downtown, we stopped in at the Angus Café where breakfast is served all day – I like those kinds of places. The Angus Café is located at 701 Cherry Street at its intersection with Seventh (the long ago home of the Krystal). The menu lists almost anything you could possibly want for breakfast – eggs, biscuits, gravy, grits, pancakes, waffles, bagels, cereals, French toast, sandwiches and more. Wayne ordered a Western Omelet ($5.99), which is prepared with ham, onion, green peppers, cheese and salsa. Omelets (three eggs) are served with a choice of hash browns, gravy or grits and either a biscuit or toast. He ordered the hash browns and biscuit with gravy. I ordered an egg with thick sliced bologna. It’s been a really long time since I’ve eaten bologna, so I decided to go for it and found a tasty change of pace. I chose the grits with whole wheat toast. This guy did the best job on sunny-side-up eggs than any I’ve ordered recently. www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_107523.asp

I wondered about that place Janet...thanks for the review. I hadn't been there since it was Krystal.
When you say Chicken salad with fruit....do you mean fruit on the side? or fruit in the chicken salad? I know some people put grapes or apples in their chicken salad. I like it sometimes that way but, prefer it with celery or relish.

I don't know what they have in the chicken salad since we didn't order that, but it is chicken salad served with fruit - I would say that is fruit on the side. I don't mind a bit of fruit in my chicken salad, but when I make it I don't use it. If I am going to have relish in it, it has to be dilled - can't stand the sweet stuff! The tea room in Ooltewah (Beyond the Garden Gate at Streetside) has very good chicken salad and it does have fruit in it - I really enjoy lunches there.
