I'd like to muscle in on this grouper of fish-related puns as I, too, am full of abalone to the point I'm liable to get conched on the head before I can hammer them out....to quote an old saw.

Don't be shellfish, Dave. Keep an even keel and you can surely get on deck without rigging the game. While you may feel kelpless at first, you won't be the first to come down the pike. Before you know it, Tommy Dorsal will be playing Salmon Chanted Evening in celebration of your success (thanks to Kip Adotta), and you'll have more tail than you can fathom.

There is just something wrong with making a fish taco out of a cod piece. -choking on tea- damn this thread has taken a most amusing turn. As to cod how about currying it?

If y'all are going to continue with this pun war at least add a recipe or serving suggestion for cod to the end of your post.
Thank you, The Management

I think the thread is starting to get a muskee smelt to it.
Put whatever herbs you like on your fillet. Bake your cod at 350 degrees on a pan covered with foil. 20 - 30 minutes should do it.

I didn't mean to start a roe, with everyone whaling away at me. I would prefer everyone to mako love, or as the Italians say, a moray.
- - -
1 fresh cod
1 pine board (soaked in water for at least one hour)
Several large nails
Hammer
A hot, smoky fire
Gut and scale the cod, removing the fins. Nail the cod to the pine board, and lay the board, fish-side up, gently in the fire. After 45 minutes to one hour, the flesh should be flaky and cooked through. Carefully remove nails from the fish, then the fish from the board (the cod may be stuck to the board a bit) Throw the fish away, and eat the board.

Oh my cod, I've haddock all I can hake......
BTW, curried cod is a great idea, we had a curried (Thai style) grouper for supper last night. Cod is usually less expensive.

Avast! amount of recipes are availble to be netted from this thread. The simplest and one of the tastiest is sautee'd in butter, lightly salted & peppered, then spritzed with lemon/lime.
For your dollar, the star fish would be cod.
