Because that's part of the fun of a night out in Atlanta.I don't wait more than 15 minutes unless Stychen really, really wants to eat there. I also don't tip the host for faster seating. I call ahead or make reservations at the places that take call ahead seating or reservations. Still, if I walk into a restaurant and I'm waiting and not tipping the host for faster seating I'm not going to get angry at the people who want to be seated so quickly that they are willing to pay their hard earned money to be seated ahead of me. In fact if someone does get huffy with a host over this I'm probably going to get involved by making fun of that person for being too cheap to tip the host. I see.......a stinker, eh? Well, I personally love to sit back and watch people, so to me that's all in part of the fun of going out to eat..... Lately, though, Dave and I have been cooking in and I have to be honest that I've thoroughly enjoyed not having to deal with the people...especially right now at this time of year... Too many grumpbags!

I voted "30 minutes", but it really depends. We had to wait longer than that at the Atlanta Fish Market (watching the valet parking show), but that was to be expected for the time that we went. If we didn't want to wait that long, we would have gone somewhere else or gone at another time. At the Stage Deli in New York, I didn't want to wait so I decided to go the carry-out route and take my Adam Sandler back at the hotel. I'm too cheap to try the tip. I do, however, tip 18%+ unless there was gross negligence.
