Several people have asked about the "karma" function - the ability to "exalt" and "smite" a person. If you approve of someone's post, click on the "exalt" link, and it will add a point to their "karma". Likewise, a "smite" will subtract a point. You can only do this once per hour, so be careful with your karmic retribution. And yes, this is one of those "fun" new things.

Ah once an hour - no wonder it has disappeared from my screen. Sorry worm.

Hehe, my time spent in politics will guarantee me a negative rating anyway.

I'm just glad I started with a '0' balance here.
In my world, I'd have to use exponential hash marks on some pretty big numbers.
Negative numbers.

Well I HAD a positive rating. I only hit the smite during testing on the person that was being hit "for testing purposes". Since then it has been nothing but love for people. But for me smiter I give you this

Is there any loss of privilege associated with getting too low a karmic rating?

Not so far. Then again, I may set it up that if someone gets to x number of negative points they get a 24 timeout and then have their karma reset to 0.
Then again, maybe not...

LOL! If you did that - certain people would be sure to 'gang up' on someone just for sh!ts and grins.

I just thought it would be funny as heck if Gary were the first person bitch slapped right out of his own forum. *giggle*
But, I do have a rather warped sense of humor. Comes from hanging out with strange people.

Since I can reset karma (it's good to be the King), I am not worried about it personally. And if I ever did set a number, it would be something like -50 or -100 - meaning that someone would really have to piss off a lot of people (at the rate of one smite per hour) to reach that level of negative karma.
