Whether you are getting a shiny new kitten or like me have a whiny old cat, one must tend to their needs at both ends. Does anyone need a nice hooded litterbox? Used but in good condition. I even hosed it out Free to the first taker! I recently upgraded to a CatGenie and put scooping nasty litterboxes behind me

If it's that cool one on your front porch that looks like an igloo put Griffin's name on it! He's too big for the regular kind!!

Sorry The rectangular one is up for grabs. I'm keeping the round one that is Griffin sized JIC of technical difficulties.

Let me know how well that works. I was thinking about getting something like that because I HATE scooping litter.

The CatGenie is WONDERFUL! It hooks up to a clothes washer connection or toilet. It scoops, flushes the mess down the drain, washes the litter, and blows it dry for reuse. Basically it takes care of itself I don't miss the mess at all! I highly recommend the CatGenie to anyone.

When I had a cat, the front yard did the same thing, kinda.
And it was free.
This is what is wrong with the cats of today. Too pampered!

I had one of those hooded ones that I kept on the back deck for the ancient Stella to sleep in. The racoons got it and tore it up. I'm thinking about getting her one of those wood cribs to sleep in to get her off the wood when it rains. She loves to lay in the sun or sleep under a table. It's too cool in here for her. I think she soaks up warmth during the day. I guess this winter I need to bring her in. She pees everywhere when she does. Grid, how much does that cat genie cost? I don't think Stella has enough brain power to use it now, though.

Are you suggesting my cats are elitist?!? If they are it's only because they are better than the other cats! I live on a North Chattanooga "artery". Housing is dense and traffic plentiful. Outdoor cats don't live as long. They tend to turn up as flapcats. Under $300 (but not much). If Stella has the brainpower to use a litterbox then she can use a CatGenie. The Genie has the brains so the cat does not need them

How long does the fan blow, and will a cat go in with the fan blowing, and does the litter track when it's wet?
With all my cats, I'm afraid it would never dry out. They share 3 litterboxes currently.

One CatGenie can handle up to 3-4 cats. The whole cleaning process takes about half an hour, about half of that is drying the litter. There is a motion detector to keep it from starting when a cat is present. I doubt a cat would get in while it's cleaning (but then the rule about cats is that cats are the exception to the rule). The litter gets tracked everywhere though It is no better than regular litter when it comes to that. Still - it is wonderful and worth every penny

Naw, our hood is too nice for that. We export our flapcats to Red Bank.

I was looking on line at this gadget and I understood it to say you had to hook to both the toilet and the washer connection. Is that not correct? Just wondering since I would like to have one but the area where the litter box is located is in an upstairs bathroom while the washer connection is downstairs. Right now we have the type that automatically sweeps the stuff into a container on the end. They work good, but you still have to scoop occasionally.
Are you still liking this new one?

You hook it up to a clothes washer connection (preferred IMO) or a toilet. It needs power, water, and a drain. It even comes with the T-connector you need to split the water source I love it and have experienced both things I've seen in the reviews that people have issues with. 1) Litter gets tracked everywhere. This was an issue with the old litter too, but the old litter wasn't expensive. Some gets picked up & tossed back in, some just gets vacuumed. 2) Every once in a while a little bit of poo gets past the scooping process. Then it gets soaked in the wash and then roasted by the drying process. You will know when this happens - believe me - when the funk of roasted cat poo wafts your way. These are minor inconveniences - I still love it and recommend it to anyone

Thanks for the info.
"I can't believe no one asked "How many miles on it?" " I don't think he "participates" any more. . .
